Things I've learned not to do in New Jersey: try to pump my own gas, or root openly for the Phillies.
Things I *have* learned to do: build grassroots movements, and elect Democrats.
Which is why I'm very excited to be the 2024 New Jersey Coordinated Campaign's Director.
last night at midnight mass, the choir brought out multiple guitars to sing carols and my grandfather loudly whispered, “what are we, Protestants?”
Merry Christmas!
The news that Trump is going virtually station JD Vance in Pennsylvania for the rest of the campaign shows that his path to the presidency is becoming PA or nothing.
Hanging out with friends who don't work in politics is incredible. No one can fathom voluntary cyclical unemployment, and everyone thinks I'm the president of the United States.
Traffic will be flowing on I-95 THIS WEEKEND, says Gov. Shapiro.
"This is what it looks like when the ingenuity of Delco meets the grit of Philly. This is what happens when we all come together."
@KZambon
@MNFreedomFund
Totally hear this — no one should feel pressured to put their health at risk when there are other ways to help. But I think we can agree that white women in particular weren’t showing up long before COVID hit
Shoutout to all the field organizers who won’t be at the convention this week — instead, they’ll be working across the country to bring it home in the final stretch.
Candidates and campaign leadership, when Democrats win: hire the organizers who delivered the victory.
This is Lee.
He & his wife housed me — a scared, overwhelmed organizer — in rural Iowa for months.
Lee passed away a couple days after the Iowa caucus. This picture is from inside our caucus room.
I know Lee would be proud of
@PeteButtigieg
today. And I hope he’s proud of me.
Hard to put into words how impactful this is.
When I was a teenager, I thought mental illness was something shameful and wrong with me. Seeing my Senator get help publicly? I wish 15 year old Frances had that role model.
Thank you,
@JohnFetterman
. We’ve got your back.
Senator John Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed last night "to receive treatment for clinical depression," Fetterman's chief of staff says in a new stmt.
"While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks."
Four years ago, I locked my classroom door and turned off the lights to hide with my students from an active shooter.
I got into politics because of that day — I’m still in politics because of this day.
took my dad to a campaign event and mid-conversation with a candidate, he whispers “lemme hook you up with a cube” and handed me a cube of cheese. Cannot emphasize enough there was no snack table
friend: “will you guest speak in my class about working on campaigns”
me, eating three rice krispie treats for dinner in a parking lot before running a phone bank: “yes”
The Parkland school shooting happened two months after I’d locked myself in my own classroom during an active shooter threat. It’s the reason I left teaching for politics, and it’s the reason I’m still here.
Six years since the March for Our Lives, and we will keep fighting.
and credit to
@redlightvoices
, who created the phrase “if your feminism isn’t intersectional, it’s bullshit” — thanks for calling attention
@zaranosaur
I work on campaigns because I believe better is possible.
I’ve seen the power of ordinary people coming together, working hard, and electing public servants to build a better future.
That’s why I am so excited to start today as Grassroots Director for
@AndyKimNJ
for Senate.
Just ran into a high school crush at our town grocery store while reaching for the same loaf of bread, have I been unwittingly cast in a Hallmark special
Six years ago today, I woke up in a commonwealth that elected Donald Trump.
Today, I woke up to my new senator
@JohnFetterman
, my new governor
@JoshShapiroPA
, under President
@JoeBiden
.
It’s a good day to be a Pennsylvania Democrat.
Tonight, the country will be re-introduced to national treasure
@AndyKimNJ
.
He is an intelligent, humble, and honest public servant. He is also very patriotic.
How patriotic? Well, try sending him a message with the word “theatre”
Just saw the news. Thank you for this incredible win! What we achieved over the last 8 months is remarkable. We built a stunningly powerful grassroots movement that took down the unfair ballot line and changed NJ politics forever. Now we are ready to take our movement for change
Four months ago, I started working in Appanoose, Davis, and Van Buren counties — some of the reddest, most rural counties in Iowa.
Today, those counties officially supported a gay candidate for President.
Go everywhere. Talk to everyone.
This is how we win.
#TeamPete
Lynn, wearing the bright yellow here, was a Precinct Captain for Pete in Appanoose. We sang Christmas carols at her piano when I was missing my family during the holidays.
Last night we lost her to coronavirus complications.
Today and every day until November, I fight for her.
talking about GOT and its gratuitous sexual violence, and this guy goes “yeah but I mean that was historically accurate”
my brother in christ, there are dragons
spending time with normal people who don’t work in campaigns
“so do you know your next job?”
“no”
“but you know when it might start”
“I do not”
“well you know where it will be”
“not always”
“and you enjoy this”
“yes”
can you imagine being stuck in war-torn Ukraine watching endless violence all around and you look up only to see former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
