A foreign faith? Britain was Catholic for over 1000years, our Cathedrals and ancient Universities were built by Catholics, our ancient Kings were Catholic… St George was Catholic. King Alfred was Catholic, St Thomas Beckett was Catholic. St Augustine of Canterbury was Catholic.

An ill thought out document is imposed by the DDF (because the Synod on synodality failed to ask for it as was planned) and in a couple of days relations with the Orthodox have gone back a decade, Africa has rebelled and there is dismay everywhere. Austria is delighted though.

I don’t think anyone denies that the C of E had Catholic roots… but they are roots that Henry VIII broke from, and the CofE has pretty consistently moved further away ever since. If you cut a branch off a tree it survives for a while.. but eventually runs out of sap and withers.

In light of recent disruption in England, as a Catholic, I think there are two guiding filters .
1) Christianity is true… so any ideology that draws people away from Catholicism is wrong.
2) All people are created in the image and likeness of God ..so racism is wrong
