@gemmaggv @DrAllyLouks Cool coincidence, I'm looking into aromatherapy as a possibility today. Glad to hear it's helping you.

@hereformycity @DrAllyLouks I'm asd as well. My triggers are usually auditory or visual, but I've definitely had strange olfactory reactions. Solidarity!

@DrAllyLouks Not exactly a cultural reference, but I'm curious how much you've studied the anomilies in the perception of the olfactory sense common to autism spectrum disorder.

@recovery_your My recurring suicidal ideation has been largely a result of a bible-capitalism-centric worldview I clung to for most of my life, that lead me to believe that "the answer to my disability is death." I am in the years-long process of recovering by building self-respect.

@thoughtcrates1 @sensorystories_ I really don't know whether you intend to communicate that I should die, but that is what you communicate. Because of this, I will try to step away from the conversation. All I ask is that you value your own life unconditionally. Hoping all the best for you.

@thoughtcrates1 @sensorystories_ Have you heard much about Autism Spectrum Disorder? It's a common cause of a lifelong deficit in social functionality. It tends to start around birth and has no cure. And just like with many other ailments, there are times to adapt and grow, and times to settle and accept.

@thoughtcrates1 @sensorystories_ Some people are less socially able than others. Sometimes from birth to the end. In light of that, there are times to learn and grow, and there are also times to accept and steady. Sometimes the person can't afford to come socialize, for their mental health's sake.

@diannahaze One "worthless human with nothing to offer the world" to another, let's show the world what is means to be alive. Let's show them we care about pumping blood, breathing air, and much more. Let's show them that when their time comes to be weak and sick, we'll understand and care.

@broadwaybabyto Thank you for reminding me I am more than a disability, I am a person. Thank you seriously.

@diannahaze Hella motifs for our prisons around us. It's hard for people to realize what those mean to us. My prison is cognitive, but I definitely can loosely equate it with "this body." Not sure that makes sense, but we await the future beside you.

@thephysicsgirl @ijustine @SmoshIan @LaraHarp @SimoneGiertz I need to learn from this. This is on point.

@thephysicsgirl You are both quite brave to push forward for this long and to resolve to continue doing so. Know that many are rejoicing in your bravery. If at all possible, I encourage you to rejoice in your own bravery. I know it won't heal you, but it's something good. We try going forward.

@thephysicsgirl Dianna, one thing I'm learning about disabilities is to look to the present for hope. Hope in good that already exists is stronger than hope in a possible future. It may take all the effort you can afford, but you might be able to perceive good in today. Our existence does good.
