Hoo boy
You know, it's fucking wild that people all like FromSoft games, but a pocket of people hate robots just because, all while FromSoft developed tons of Mecha games in one franchise???
It's gotten bad to the point that it seems like an appeal to opinion based on hatred.
*Sigh*
@GiggukAZ
...just say that you don't like Mecha anime and we'll leave you alone.
The rest of will enjoy watching the newest offering from
@G1_BARI
whether it's good or bad!
Cool thing about Armored Core 6 is that it shows each Corporation and other companies have their specializations for products.
Arquebus loves using Energy Weapons, Balam has the Kinetic and Explosive ones, and everything else is spread evenly between.
One thing that impresses me is that Nightfall, the mascot mech of AC6, is actually just the basic build we start out with stuck with parts we may have already gotten our hands on;
More so with the Core, Arms and Legs
What impresses is that Raven put the fear into the PCA with it.
Let's see
> it's not Gundam Wing
> it's not Gundam SEED
> it's not Gundam 00
> it's not UC
> it's not Turn A
It receives no positive treatment from Bandai Namco, or the fans from either sides in an official manner.
Yeah, its fans are more oppressed than even Late UC fans.
YOU SEE THIS BUNDLE OF UNBRIDLED JOY?
I'M COMPLETELY FINE IF SHE KICKED THE BUCKET AS OF RECENT, BUT CONSIDER ME HER GREATEST FAN DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE'S JUST ANOTHER BRUNETTE IN A SUNRISE ANIME
To any other person who may just see the GM as just another mook, they are just that.
The way I see the GM, it had the makings of what can start a whole line of mechanical recurrences, just as much as the Gundam.
-> variable mechanical designs
-> more look into avionics
-> re-iterates the importance of mechanics in the series, with students ALSO studying mechanics
-> first TV series leads to be females
-> re-explores cyborg enhancements and prosthetics in Gundam
-> Petra Itta
@armoredcoreSIX
They do have a merc group called "Red Guns" that have a red decals on a single shoulder like the Red Shoulders...and this AC wreckage with a straight up red shoulder
50 years of Getter Robo, and people still talk about other mecha anime influenced by it more than the source.
Getter Robo really is just like the Outer Gods in Lovecraftian media; it's just in the background, still influencing other pieces of media with its tropes.
Wild because in recent games, when built properly, it can keep up with outright super robots, two colony killing machines, 4 of the most powerful MSs of their time, Trans-AM using Gundams, and anything using psycommu and psychoframes.
That's what bravery gets anyone.
That's kind of crazy since the Ez8 is just a Ground Gundam put back together, and it somehow can keep up with a Gundam with a Psychoframe
Truly a crazy SRW moment
When TV Tropes goes on a spree of disproving all of this, then you know that site is more based than anyone who wholeheartedly believes that Evangelion is a deconstruction.
In Like A Dragon/Yakuza 4, Hiroki Narimiya played Masayoshi Tanimura. Years laters after the game's release, he faced drug allegations from a tabloid.
At first, he pleaded innocent, but quit acting.
After a while, he got proven innocent... because he was actually eating candy.
What is the most useless piece of dubbing knowledge you know?
For example, In 2019 Disney was forced to re-dub all of Olaf's lines in the Japanese dub of Frozen, this was due to the fact that his first VA was arrested for illegal possession of cocaine
Cue this being one of the main reasons Lunamaria in videogames (mostly Super Robot Wars) having very low accuracy stats and high SP Consumption for Bullseye.
@ShinMoondaze
Setsuna F Seiei (real name Soran Ibrahim) is Kurdish muslim. his home nation, the republic of Krugis, is canonically within kurdistan. he also goes by the alias "Kamal Majirif"
The title is on the spot. But it's half true for one reason;
That thumbnail has an L-Gaim. Which isn't a Gundam. Therefore, not a GunPla.
Everyone needs to practice saying "Plastic Model Kits/PlaMod"
The Philippines has a weird ass relationship with Mecha
Most don't typically watch Gundam and assume it's just about war, but praise Code Geass and Voltes V like if it represents a part of their history (it does until you realize they become just as bad)
it's really funny because they say toku and mecha is embarrassing then they turn around and praise something like Evangelion like it's the second coming of Christ all while forgetting it's very cheesy toku roots. the entire first third is literally monster of the week.
You know how Gundam popularized a trend among Mecha anime to have formal names for their mecha?
It's so fascinating when I look back at certain series, and I end up looking at names like "Valiancer", "Personal Trooper", "Armored Modules", and "Heavy Metals".
Due to SRW 30, the Narrative Gundam is ultimately my favorite Gundam Unit in the game.
At least I can put Conie/Cony in it if Jona decides to use the Unicorn Phenex.
The Daughter of Ken Ishikawa with a message to anyone interested with Getter Robo in general.
And yes. She drew a cat in a manuscript of a manga her father was working on and it was published; no information about it though.
Her cats liked playing around.
Tbf, we've been so hard on CGI-using anime that it's become stupidly common among enthusiasts for anime.
Like; I get the appeal of good 2D animation, but CGI in anime is at least TRYING to work well these days, while older animators are retiring/dying out.
Happy Birthday to the Legendary mecha designer, Mr. Masami Obari! No doubt my favorite mecha designer/director with Dacnouga, Gravion, Orgun, Dangaizer, Dragonar and SRW OG. Also the creator of the iconic Obari Sword Pose!
May you live long and prosper!
Despite the Gundam Double X being a basic Gundam compared to a lot of the franchise's heavy hitters, it actually has the one thing that generally blows up inner mechanisms, regardless of timeline.
Microwaves.
The photon torpedoes have to be the most horrifying weapon in Gundam. It's practically invisible and deletes you completely, with no real countermeasure.
Their use is just one of many unforgettable scenes in Movie IV.
Of note, the way its VSBR works is also in canon. It can actually penetrate I-Fields with impunity, with just two VSBRs. Having another pair is overkill.
You know, this question is really something I've been thinking about for a long time, and I would say yes. Hell, not just Gundam, but any mecha themed show with horror/suspense would work well enough, and we have had some examples of such.
It's just not popular of an idea.
A reminder that Kimitoshi Yamane's the mechanical designer.
He also worked on, among others:
Bubblegum Crisis
Hades Project Zeorymer
Detonator Orgun
G Gundam
The 08th MS Team
Escaflowne
Argento Soma
Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny (and Stargazer)
MS IGLOO 2
G Reco
Ima take a nap for abit but ngl some of yall are being way too harsh about the Requiem for Vengeance designs lolol
Like its not everyone's cup of tea for sure but saying its soulless and the designer should lose their job feels abit too mean spirited man idk
We are pleased to announce that "ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON", the latest entry in the Armored Core series, is coming in 2023. We look forward to sharing more info at a later date.
Armored Core 6, despite actually being a great game on its own right, is not nominated.
This already means it's a popularity contest, and I'm not surprised.
2023 Game of the Year nominees:
• Alan Wake 2
• Spider-Man 2
• Resident Evil 4
• Baldur's Gate 3
• Super Mario Bros. Wonder
• The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I think it's funny that most people who watch anime in general would have just skimmed across lists of titles for anime, then pass on Dai-Guard because it seems like a generic mecha show based on older show premises.
I think it's pretty wasteful, since the show is enjoyable-
Really feeling great that Armored Core 6 can let you use the Ashmead Pile Bunker more than just limiting their usage with ammo.
It's not exactly every day that you get a weapon like the pile bunker which doesn't use up ammo.
Japan already had that concept for.... 30 years or so, but it was more of a "split-off project" that ended up becoming its own franchise.
The Japanese called it "The Brave Series", and most of the robots in those shows would do the same thing as this image would show.
>announce a crossover project between 4 or more IPs
>get labelled as "making their own Marvel Universe"
Whoever is writing articles like those probably never knew how to make titles/headlines that aren't dumb.
But Filipino is already a Gender Neutral Term
And X doesn't exist in the Filipino Alphabet
And my ancestors did not fight for this to happen to their identity.
Honestly, any GM could be portrayed to do this in Gundam, but mostly until SD Battle Alliance, they chose not to due to one thing:
They'd easily show that being a Gundam in the franchise doesn't make too big of a difference.
