That's two separate issues. Let's deal with antisemitism first. Britain has long been a sanctuary for Jews who have largely minded their own business, not blown up any tube stations or pop concerts, or attempted to force their private superstitions on us, and have generally contributed to the economic, social, political and cultural life of the country. As the Muslim population has grown, life is now unsafe for them, where British Jews, many who've never even been to Israel, are facing overt racial prejudice and being held accountable for the actions of the Israeli government. It's grotesque, as indeed is all racism against the person. I care about it because it's a marker that Britain has a growing cancer, and it's not just Jews who are endangered by it. Why do I care about Israel? The short answer is... I kinda don't. But I do care about truth. This one issue reveals better than any other the complete capture and corruption of the UN, the ICC, a multitude of NGOs and civil society organisations, and the media. It exposes the moral cowardice of British universities. It exposes the gullibility and obnoxiousness of the modern left. It exposes the bigotry of the far right. It exposes the unprofessionalism and bias of the broadcast media. It exposes Islam in Britain as hostile to our values (i.e. not cheering on murderous Jihadists who rape women to death and set them on fire). I care insofar as I'd like to see an end to this miserable ethno-religious war that toxifies everything it touches. As much as anything else, it's an issue of intractable moral dilemmas and intrigue, which makes it inherently interesting, but it's also an issue that has direct ramifications for British politics, at the local level (as Islamists form voting blocs), and at the national level, and on the street level. It is not trivial.
