Jarome Iginla. He’s either underrated as hell or your league essentially committed fraud and grand theft by leaving him off of your Top 100 players list. #peopledontforget

@evil_Jdubs @EmptyNettersPod Oh, I have. There are tank fanatics for different teams every season.

@evil_Jdubs @EmptyNettersPod Every fan base has people who think they know better. Some takes are ridiculous, but I suppose I’d take passion over apathy.

Of course the #Flames benefited from challenges/reviews last game against Seattle, but damn boiiiiiiii, “goaltender interference” has grown softer than a stick of butter sitting on the porch on a hot summer afternoon. Can’t even breathe near the crease anymore!

Does it really matter if you can’t get the right player or the captain’s letter when the jerseys themselves are Fanatics pieces of trash anyway? Just feel or look at the adidas Primegreen Authentic sweaters compared to the Fanatics Whateverthefuck. BIG drop in quality.
The NHL hands down has the worst marketing among all the major sports league. Why wouldn’t you make every player available? Do you not want to market EVERY Player playing in your little tournament? And why wouldn’t Sid and McDavid have the Captain/Alternate patches on their jerseys? You have a big ass reveal yesterday for each team but fans can’t even get the C/A patches …

@politicstcan @MikeBartner Sure! Some deals move the needle big time. Others, a little bit. Underpinning all of CC's moves has been a focus on age. The Flames need bring in good young forwards, including an elite C, to support the future core of Wolf/Parekh, but this move doesn't detract from that.

It would be cool for the #Flames if you could trade cap space for first-round draft picks haha.
The #Flames currently have $37.14M in cap space for next season if the cap hits $95.5M. That number would include 8F, 5D, 1G. Major RFAs are: Coronato, Zary, Frost, and Bahl. Will be interesting to see what number these guys cumulatively come in at.

@politicstcan @MikeBartner It makes them better in the long run, too. They got two solid NHL players, didn’t give up much at all, and got younger.

@soupdard @MikeBartner This would have been a smart move for the Hawks, no? Get younger and better without giving up much?

@MikeBartner I genuinely do not see what you’re arguing here. The Flames should have gotten more for what they gave up? Shouldn’t have made the trade at all? Should only be trading older guys to contenders for picks in the 16-32 range AT BEST? They got younger AND better.

@afern_alex @chezisoursavior @WexlerSmith @JFreshHockey Good news is that the Flames have oodles of cap space, Frost’s cap hit is only $2.1M, the cap is set to rise, and he’s an RFA, not a UFA.

@H63691748 @cartergraham29 @FlamesNation @PinderReport @Village_Honda They need mid-high first round picks, not just more picks. The question is how? They’re not going to fall to the bottom of the standings.

@FlamesNation @PinderReport @Village_Honda To pick in the top three, you have to be very bad. To pick that high for several years, extremely bad. Wolf and Parekh are great core pieces. If a full blown tank isn’t happening, how can the Flames get a franchise centre? Serious question.

@M3RKCrash8 @Flash_33 I like this! I’m sure they’ll juggle anyway. I’d treat Farabee and Frost as if they haven’t struggled - full fresh start. Backlund bump is always good for learning systems though. Could swap Coleman and Farabee to their natural wings. That L2 would be fun and could be NASTY.
