Fursuit making tip 🧵🪡 piercings!. After a while of using them I just thought I’d share 🫡. You can get metal hoops with a spring closure! Search terms such as round carabiner, bag clips, O rings and push gate . Shouldn’t be more than £5, cheaper in bulk 🫶 works great for noses

Finally got to assemble my new 3D printed eye blanks 🙏 previously they were resin cast but I get a lot more control over colour this way. Still the exact same extreme follow me effect 👁️

Just a word of caution to research suppliers and find quality hoops that aren’t going to tarnish! Regularly check for discolouration against lighter furs, remove for washing. I love the look of these :). Keep fursuit making accessible 🫶.

how to add freckles to a fursuit using a felting needle! . this is a simple technique you can use to add small markings like beauty marks or freckles, you can also use this technique to fix bald spots :)

Fursuit makers!!. How many of you glue a felt or fleece strip for lip lines over sewing? . I still ladder stitch but it’s so harsh on my wrists and takes forever, but haven’t stopped over fear of comments on quality. I want some reassurance to try something new.

@PuRpLe_HaVoK Most people were not making a living wage with fursuits before Covid. That’s the long and short of it. The cost of living has increased and there has been a massive influx of full time makers. The price has to increase to afford to live on it. Increase in import too.

@thecrittercove I’ve been interested to try this but just been concerned about controlling the spray, how easily it is to pull away if there’s a small mistake and how long it stays tacky? I’ve heard of people using spray adhesive for lining but never furring!.

@gatorwaves Teddy and fox from howl by far! Both fairly easy to shave down, very dense and they look beautiful at the length they come in too. Both lay flat and don’t become very scruffy from wear like some types of lux shag. Also like beaver but not as versatile.

@TacoTeko I don’t find them restrictive but I only briefly wear them for photos. @mattyfeelsruff has a pair made on this pattern and could possibly give their opinion? . Due to these being so slim fit I also don’t line, just use finger pillows which helps with mobility too.

@CloudedChaotick @avaloafe Not to mention I was never even talking about noses. Besides on resin. I would never glue a nose personally. Taking an out of context screen shot just to make yourself look better when sewing a nose is pretty standard and not a stand out feature.

@curleigh_fries @jaycostumes The industry term this kind of thing is HIPS (high impact polystyrene)! you’ll find loads more colours searching that term rather than plasticard or eye plastic. Good luck :>.

@CumTruckMcFuck What do you mean by stay L shaped? What you’re describing is pretty much what I do, the top part of the ear has no foam. Instead of a straight cut I just make it slightly curved, it doesn’t make a massive difference though

@f1lthy_fangs @PuRpLe_HaVoK I’d say that a lot of US makers charge more or equally to the UK from what I’ve seen despite the additional charges international makers face. For example my most recent fur order cost over £400 in postage alone with customs to come. It’s hard to fully break down if I’m honest.

@LittlestLynx Yeah you just weigh them down to make them bouncier :) usually would install some inside the ear but in this case the weights are the piercings!.
