Farms at Miling WA . Grows grain crops, merino sheep and beef cattle in a environmentally sustainable farming enterprise. Enjoys a beer and good friends
For those that think they have worked a hard day, this bloke stacked 140 t of wheat bags in our little town of miling. He still holds the world record today.
Heading to Sydney town for a yack to a few fellow Ag punters for a few days. I’m a bit worried though, I have no mo, no man bun, no skin tight duds, am a heterosexual male, pro live exports , non PC , no tramp stamp , don’t pop pills/ drugs and don’t like drinking yuppie beer!
When touring WA , pull into our small towns and support our small shops/ cafes / pubs. Some are trying their ass off to keep country towns alive. So what if the beer or fuel is a bit pricey! Who gives u a tow for free ? Or tells u the yarns for free? Who does the ambo for free?
Talking to a few farmers lately , it’s interesting that many of us have gone through the driest year in 100 yrs. We harvested a crop, low yielding, but still a crop. Managed the livestock well with very low prices, but not a whimper from our Ag minister or premier to recognise it
Our own lamb we are selling to everyday punters through our shop. $60/ hd to kill $60 to package before I get my cut& before I pay myself for transport. Who’s making the money ? Where is my funding ?
@MurrayWatt
It’s not as easy as your city centric mates think
Off to feed the sheep again. That’s all ok , as it part of the job. What shits me is the state & fed politicians manipulating things like markets, guns , labour, biosecurity and not having the balls to meet with Ag groups openly & in person.
#farmlife
So as a farmer, I can’t get my lambs into an ab to be killed, and I’m being paid $6/ kg when I can get them killed, I think some middleman is taking the piss
The boys might not be Rhodes scholars and getting chipped for lack of homework but by Fark we are having some fun growing up on the farm.
#outsideboys
& swimming nude, playing cricket and footy, collecting rocks and gardening.
#reallifeskills
Sorry but I’m over this mask mandate. It does f all! You can pick ya nose and your ass and touch anything u like. But no mask no service. Even if u been bush all day.
@MarkMcGowanMP
has everyone scared
Hey
@MurrayWatt
- this is todays lamb prices after you started to piss around with our sheep markets. These lambs were in a feedlot too. The buyers are thieving wankers too
@meatlivestock
6 little city kids at a bus stop after school today. Yanking their little arms for me to blow the horn. Think they are still on a building somewhere. 😀 gave them full noise from the star and they shit their dacks 😀
#hadtobedone
#truckie
So
@MurrayWatt
has just come out to support live cattle exports but is throwing live sheep under the bus eh? Thanks a lot mate. What is the difference ?
You have made sheep meat very cheap mate! Since u have played with the live ex market us sheep producers are now shooting our sheep since they are worth nothing. U enjoy your meals thinking of what u have done to aust farmers
Highly likely most of these animals pictured will get shot because I can't sell them. Thanks
@MurrayWatt
and the ALP. What a boost for our mental health 😡
The media need to understand that there are plenty of farmers out here not having a bumper season. Yes many are having a good run but a few cold nights or a few inches of rain too many, makes for a tough situation for some of us.
I can’t believe that a ship full of animals is being used as a political pawn , I don’t care if u support or don’t support live export. Have some balls and sort it out
@AlboMP
@RogerCookMLA
Ok boys and girls, it's official we are bringing the trucks to Perth next week on the 13 th for a protest run into the Perth CBD to visit
@sueellery
and her mates. Anyone with a truck with an air horn is needed.

So we used to mulse, only tail stripped for last 10 yrs to make sheep look like they have been mulsed in sale yards, now we have stopped mulsing. Stocky comes & scratches his head when we go to sell sheep. “ not mulsed eh! Going to be harder to sell”

Vs old farmers
Hey all u travellers on the great northern hwy
Call into the MILING roadhouse for great coffee, a feed or just a chat. We have clean dunnies and two hot Sheila’s cooking and serving u. Mon - Fri 8.30 to 5.30 and sat morns. This little place has a new life.
I am def learning a lot from this season with its challenges , but I’m thankful I don’t have to worry about wether another country is going to lob a rocket towards me or put land mines in the fields
#farmlife
Brown dog bitzer saying - look out for your mates during this
#liveex
crisis in WA. Make sure us blokes keep talking to each other. If you are having a bit of trouble give a #
#6B
s bloke a call. We are all in this together
I just had to stop and congratulate a corporate farm in the dandy shire for a show piece paddock burn. Firebreaks around single trees, great boundary firebreaks, no burnt trees and responsible burning of the paddock in good conditions.

So
@Telstra
we have a little storm, your tower runs out of battery backup power in 3 hrs. You won’t let us put a generator on the tower for backup. Will u be liable for any death while our comms are down? U have even diverted all our landlines through the tower. Why no generator
5 days ago,
@MurrayWatt
gave this evidence to the Senate.
Today, the Gov has backed a House Inquiry with just 4 business days for industry to have its say.
Has he honoured his commitment? You be the judge.

@roseycatherine
It still amazes me that farm kids who love farming , are told by mum & dad to go & get a trade , then come back to the farm. Are we not professional enough to develop our youth in a farm environment ? U don’t see a trainee dr go and drive a bus for 3 yrs first?
Just lobbed in to Exmouth and having a quiet ale after dinner in this resort and some joker has lit up the biggest joint outside my shack next to my aircon intake. That sweet smell has relaxed my family 😀 full points to the quality too 😀👍
Kingbale oats sown in March into dry soil , into a very dirty barley grass and erodium paddock. Sentry applied pre em. All weeds gone. Lambs weaned onto it. Still have great Groundcover & now regrowth. This is a game changer for grazing & growing oats. Barley grass gone
Message to our chemical retail businesses in the country towns - keep good stocks and keep your good people. You will drive farmers to online businesses at your demise. Don’t get me wrong I love supporting local but if u don’t provide the service well , see u later
#fixit
@JohnCareyPerth
Baz will do more for WA than u have mate! Your mob have not recognised we are in drought up here. You guys are the champs of no action. Look at the ambo ramping, no housing, nurse shortage - no action mate
More farking red tape. Fatigue mgt for truck audit. Done the driver one, now the owner one. Then reapply for permits and apply for roads to run on . It’s just a paper jungle for accountability and to keep pen pushing office chair seat warmers in a job
Just for the record , short ass crops are Farking hard on man and machine. We need the crop genetics so us farmers can choose taller varieties for our risk mgt.
Well we travelled over 11000 km in 6 weeks in a flash hire van &
#toyota
shaggin wagon that's done 400000km with a glamper, mr 35 & farmer that nearly got shot in SA, trampstamped in vic & got an rbt 50 km from dropping van off today. Met great twitter friends face 2 face
After 35 yrs carting to Cbh at harvest, started in Bedford’s , then a dodge , then a purple Kenny now a Mack & a star, u learn to show up with fuel additives for header drivers after 6

Ready for

group 10 th annual shearing shed show. Our grower group gets 70 people each year in black tie for a three course meal and party in our shearing shed.
#funinfarming
The boss does the night shift in this team. Wouldn’t we have a better business culture in some of our rural businesses if the CEO s did the shit jobs in their organisations once a year ?
I think a big one some farmers need to remember is- what happens if I don’t do a job today? Can it wait till tomorrow ? I’ve found life alot less stressful if u stop chasing being the perfect farmer. Just get on and do your best & empower others to help u get the job done.
Here's another quotable quote from our recent work-life balance workshops, this time from author and businesswoman Betsy Jacobson. Is managing boundaries something you're good at?
A bit of light action in kings park last night. And the best bit is we did it as one. No Farking voice” no ACH , no BS. Just good old aussies having fun together !
#perth
So our WA govt just think they can control all of us! ACH bill, firearms , forestry , fishing, live export our city friends love these politicians that are rooting our primary industries. These were all sustainable and workable before govt interference
@WAFarmers
Don’t want to brag as I know lots are having a tough season around Oz , as we had our turn last year. Showing the benefits of crop grazing. 450 ewes lambed in a revegetated salt pad with access to a scope barley crop. Just as lambing finished we moved into deferred pasture in pic
First
@WA_Roads
bypasses our little town, next they put speed humps in the bypass in town now they take our signs down ? How are our small towns meant to survive when govt Dept’s keeps belting it?
@WAtoday
To all farm suppliers ! If u do not want to carry stock in your shops, do not be pissed off when us farmers do our own bulk orders on line. This idea of saying we can get it up overnight is bullshit. Continue with this practice at your peril
#farm
supplies
I reckon when our parts suppliers are making 100% on supplying us parts it’s time to fight back. I buy PWM for my case sprayer from case $280 per go. Buy online $160. Pipe fittings 80 to 100% markup.
#timetochange
Coaching junior cricket is so rewarding. Watching the kids grow and learn then having a beer and burger with their parents.
@BradMillsteed
has done a great job with our junior cricket club, keeping the dream alive. Thanks mate.
Hey muz , if it’s that simple , why have our abbs in WA got such a huge backlog of sheep? We can’t get our lambs in to be killed cocko! How about have a few balls and come and talk to growers yourself and not have a committee do your dirty work?
Great to see WA meat processors keen to expand operations on the back of our policy to phase out live sheep exports. Lot to do to make it a reality but exactly what our Govt wants: more value adding, more jobs onshore & strong future for our sheep industry.
@Jess_Panegyres
@Peter_Strachan
Come and live in the northern Wheatbelt. We will show u dry! Driest year ever since 1914 here on this farm. Yet no noise about drought by our state leaders or fed govt. Country towns will take another hit, & the city based voters won’t give a rats
