Stamps & Flames season ticket holder. I’m here to drink beer & make noise, eventually they stop selling beer. You’ve probably heard me yelling “CHEATERRRRRRRS”

@northofstoney @Pete___Hughes Parekh is still young (a lot can change) but it sounds like many scouts are unimpressed with his defence. I’ve noticed this too. He is Erik Karlsson.

@qQueueCue @nitwitschool @stinky_poke @tritongamez Yea, that is a pickle for CC to figure out. Parekh and Brzustewicz were about equal last year in the OHL. But Brzustewicz has pro experience now. So is Parekh behind Brzustewicz in terms of development? Brzustewicz looks to be behind Solovyov and Kuznetsov.

@nitwitschool @stinky_poke @qQueueCue @tritongamez Hanley & Barrie are probably not resigned next year. The Flames have 5 D-men ready for 2025-26. I also wouldn’t be shocked if Miromanov is gone too. These 19-20yo D-men, they’re better off in the AHL than as a 7th D-man in a press box. I doubt we carry two teenagers out of 6 D.

@nitwitschool @tritongamez There are people on Twitter who want Brzustewicz and Parekh to be Flames next year, and maybe they will be Flames. But the NHL only has a couple defenceman who are 20yo right now. No 19yos. These Flames prospects will only be 19yo next year. Fans are asking for a lot from them.

@nitwitschool @tritongamez Players get sent to the AHL for a reason. There is a big jump from playing against 17yo in Junior who are half way through puberty, versus playing against professional men in their 20’s & 30’s IMO Brzustewicz struggled early with the Wranglers. Too many turnovers. He needed time

@Clarkian1900 Loved them in 2023, but 2024 was a bad year for our front-7. I don’t have specific opinions about the details, but change was required. Our defence was the worst or second worst in most categories. We couldn’t stop the run on obvious running plays.

@davedubbin85 His D partner, Mirromanov is looking worse and worse as the season goes on. He plays very slow and cautious.

@Pete___Hughes @RingOfFireCGY Backlund has lost a step. He is real slow out there. He is just kinda ‘watching the play’. Maybe it could be interpreted as ‘good defence / waiting in position.’ But I never see a bust of energy or an offensive threat from him anymore.

@Pete___Hughes @RingOfFireCGY I have an idea. What if… someone told the players to shoot the puck at the corners of the net, as opposed to just shooting at the logo of the goalie and hoping that the goalie gets out of the way.

@RingOfFireCGY I love how they reviewed this goal for a potential high stick. But Tavares slapped the puck out of Wolf’s glove, then slapped Wolf in the head. Are we suppose to conclude that hitting the goalie is okay? Later they jammed a stick under his mask to slide Wolf out of the crease.

@CofHubby @flamesfever From my view, Daccord put his thick stick shaft down flat to stop the puck. But Sharky hit the tip of his stick. This caused his shaft to rotate and as a result the puck was able to slide under the shaft of Daccords stick. It would have been a very simple save.

@Clarkian1900 100% good insight. He can’t stay in the NCAA if he signs pro. By comparison, Matt Coronato had 36 points in 34 NCAA games in his D+1 and D+2 years at Harvard. Suniev and Hoskin look to be at that production level too. Maybe Suniev becomes a Wrangler next year.

@RingOfFireCGY Did he ever say what happened here? IMO it looks like a leg cramp, it happened late in the game.
