@IbnMahbub_ @SchizoPashtun Al Imam Mansur Al Buhuti mentions this in al muntaha (Also side note but we say there are 10 rak'aat from the rawatib)

@zerophoocus It's defined by it's function (so hand is what Allah molds with, what he grabs with, etc) and the ishtirak is not merely lafdhi as is claimed by the mufawidha. "Yad" or "hand" has a shared genus but is understood differently when attributed to different things..

@abdul_now @1ilikefish I believe the contention would be that supposing that place is just a relational construct then by that nature the place Allah resides in has existed for eternity insofar as Allah would not have been in a place before creating otherwise.

@safwanSpiker7 Yeah so by the ayah itself Allah says he made the fire cold and tranquil; ergo, the fire was upon it's initial causal property until Allah directly commanded the fire to cease said property. Miracles are exceptional because they are caused independently of secondary causes

@safwanSpiker7 What would lead you to believe that holding to secondary causation presents issues with affirming scriptural miracles? I'd argue that holding to secondary causes means there is a real distinction between these miracles and any other effect that necessarily follows from a cause.

@abdul_now @Maher_Ameer_ I heard they stopped printing this great work by ustadh Mahir unfortunately. Do you know of where someone could possibly get a physical copy?

@aspiringabd @SMT_T1 He doesn't translate Ibn Abbas's statement + This (translating) is very uncommon and was likely done due to necessity Again, this translator was clearly not concerned with far'i theological matters or etymological studies

@aspiringabd Well I haven't looked into this other case you're referring to but I suggest you delete this defamatory post before you mislead others because the mutarjim clarifies in the "manhajiyyah" that he doesn't translate word etymologies. You can criticize without misleading

@aspiringabd It seems that he sometimes omits explanations while other times translating them when necessary Ironic how the same people that call for Aqeedah unity cannot grasp that the author of a translation aimed at teaching English speakers didn't care for these far'i theological matters

@SOK1026 @Somalisigma Something that was made halal could be, in many contexts, seen as haram by scholars of fiqh. Here Ar Razi explains that it's not a sin for one to make what Allah has made haram halal (although I wouldn't use this wording to describe it).
