Congrats @Gustavo_SFranca and @ItaiYanai on the beautiful work!!
Published today! We found that cancer cells adapting to drug treatments don't simply switch from a sensitive to resistant state; instead there's a āresistance continuumā of resistant phenotypes with epigenetically reprogrammed states. š§µā¬ļø @Gustavo_SFranca

So exciting to be on the cover of @MolSystBiol!! Based on Klimtās painting, we added macrophages and neutrophils, together with the Group B Strep (GBS) pathogen. Check out our single-cell analysis of placental immune response to infection! @FKuperwaser

Very excited to share our work on the placental immune response to GBS infection! So grateful to have gotten to work with the best team! Gal Avital, Michelle Vaz, @Kristen_N_Noble, Allison Dammann, @RandisTara, @DMAronoff, @AdamRatnerMD and of course @ItaiYanai š¦ š¤°
New paper! We studied the placental response to GBS infection and found evidence for immune modulation by a GBS toxin. Our cell state analysis led us to propose a model for GBS infection in the placenta leading to severe outcomes. @FKuperwaser @MolSystBiol

So excited to share this work! Loved collaborating with Gal Avital @AndrewPountain @Keenan__Lacey Erin Zwack @MagdaPodkowik @TorresVJ_Lab and the Shopsin Lab!
New paperš„! How do macrophages respond to bacterial infection? We identify distinct states with a highly inflammatory state composed of sequentially expressed gene modules and dynamics that depend on the pathogen, infection length, & toxins.š§µ@CellReports

Thank you @ItaiYanai for everything! Hard to believe it's over!
Congratulations to Felicia Kuperwaser who defended her brilliant PhD work yesterday! It's the bittersweet aspect of academia that we'll soon no longer have her inspiring daily presence in the lab, but that it'll be amazing to see her thrive in her new adventures! @FKuperwaser
