BMRCL’s Metro Project is felling 1533 trees (Reach 6 only. Data for others not made public) Phase 2A and 2B of Projected Metro: 4774. The ratio of trees to people in #Bangalore is already deplorable. Can we really AFFORD to lose more trees? #WeStandBecauseTheyDo

Fast-forward a bit to hear about how compensatory afforestation and translocation are NOT the answer. Bangalore has only 0.155 trees per person (2014 CES, IISc Report) and we cannot afford to lose more tree cover. If we like to breathe.
