Salmonier Nature Park staff are saddened to announce the passing of Buddy, the ever popular & friendly caribou which has made the park his home since 2014. Buddy found a mate at the Park and has two offspring which still reside there. It is believed Buddy died of old age.

We regret to announce the passing of a female, great horned owl at the Salmonier Nature Park. Found with a broken wing in Manuals on August 30, 1996, she lived to be more than 25 years old, and will be dearly missed by her enclosure mate, park staff and visitors.

On June 21, this eagle was found emaciated. It was recovered by vets from the Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital and FFA Conservation Officers. After care at the Salmonier Nature Park, on July 29 it was released where it was believed to have a mate waiting for its return.
