Newfoundland and Labrador's strengthened Family Violence Protection Act is now one of Canada's most inclusive laws, expanding the definition of "family violence" to include acts of emotional, psychological, and financial abuse.

Legal changes have expanded eligibility for EPO applications in family violence cases. Individuals facing violence from family members, incl. adult children or others in care relationships, can apply at @NLProvCourt. The changes help protect the vulnerable, particularly seniors.
