I know this was the Avatar year, so it never would have won but it’s wild (forgive the expression) that this movie wasn’t nominated for Visual Effects. There’s so much emotion in these faces. The big Muppet suits look amazing. This is one of the best looking movies of the 2000’s.
Spike Jone’s Where The Wild Things Are (2009). - Some would argue it’s better than the film itself. - The only acceptable use of Arcade Fire in a trailer. - Gives you the exact right imagery and tone to understand the film. Personally, I love this film. Worthy of reappraisal.
