@BookSpotlight How can you tell whether art stock image is AI or not? I've noticed on Pixabay (where I get some art bits) that there are some that say they are AI in the image description, but how can I be certain before using a piece of art/design element? I don't want to go wrong by anyone

@KatTheFirebnder Leaving a legacy that my family /daughter can benefit from once I'm gone. Also having readers enjoy my work. That was the dream, at least. Now, after being financially strained so much I can't even afford to get my work professionally edited or get good covers, it's a pipe dream.

My recent decision is heartbreaking, there's literally no other choice than moving on as the ability to self pub gets less achievable.

@David_Cormack The poorest rent, *if* they're that lucky. I'm someone on the line of poverty & currently disabled so can't work. Many like me in a similar position, as employers don't want someone who can't do a full weeks work regularly due to ill health.If my rent goes up again, I'm homeless.

@tammy_blakley A magical Labrador named Astra (plus several other magical creatures) appear in my debut trilogy. She was based on the mannerisms and pure love of my late Labrador, Sammy. He was my baby boy and I miss him dearly. But he lives on through Astra.

@jbharrisbooks Having experienced (and still experience alarmingly often) writers burnout, all I can say is take care of yourself. Don't force yourself to write. Keep a notebook at bedside and note anything that comes to mind, but please rest.

@AheadAndonia @NZStuff Me, too. It's so hard to live a life when every movement is painful, and there is no evidence of what is causing it. Feels like mixtures of fire, stabbing, dull aches, bruising, and insects crawling. It's enough to make someone lose their mind.

P.s. for NZ pronunciation, it's Ah-kah-tah-rah(with a rolled r)-wah Forest. 😉 Devil's staircase is a valley in the forest with steep climbs in and out. Also a big shout-out to the friend who called for help when they didn't show up in time.

...and our housing is cheapest in our region, suits us perfectly, yet financial constraints mean regular threat of homelessness. We have nowhere else we can go except back to WINZ, who half the time are no help. My #Health and #MentalHealth is suffering from NZ's #brokensystem.
