I've been in crypto since early 2011. Seen through bitcoin scaling wars. Colored coins. Ethereum ICO. DAO hack. I sat on the sidelines far too much. Avalanche is different. The first one that made me feel like I have to drop what I'm doing and build on this. GM.

I don't know how many of you have engineering backgrounds but there's something you should know. Avalanche as a consensus protocol is worthy of a Turing award. With Warp Messaging, they're about to give the consensus protocol a world class messaging bus. Builder's would know.

Hypersdk now showing over 108k transactions per second. That's local database level performance on a distributed Blockchain. Avalanche consensus is not limited by participating nodes. No sharding tricks. All agreeing state, all block producing. Pay attention.

If you launch an avalanche subnet, there's nothing stopping your token having a higher m'cap than Avalanche's. You get the best consensus alg. It's robust and battletested. Access to a large, active and responsive validator network. Your subnet can introduce its own incentives.

The goal is to digitize the world's assets. If validator minimum stake amount is inhibiting that goal. We should reduce it. If validating the x and c chain is a blocker. The requirement should be removed. There's a lot of questions around how the incentives realign though. 1/4.

Any application can be turned into a highly decentralised version. Have assets natively supported. Talk to other blockchains safely using AWM. The hard problems are built and maintained for you. If you're interested in building these then avalanche is the best place to build it.

Hypersdk has been rapidly improving. Local tests are up to approx 140,000 tx/s. That's fully persisted and finalised across multiple processes but on a local machine. So just missing some network overhead and latency. Incredibly impressive regardless.
10/ On my laptop, this reduced the synchronous build time for a block with 10k transactions from ~96 ms to ~74 ms, a 22.9% improvement 🚀 🚀 🚀 .

They just released a big update to the rust SDK. That includes an implementation of the consensus protocol. This is the groundwork to alternate node implementations and a lot more.

@CryptoMessiah Running a node is incredibly easy. Literally just git pull the code, run the build script and do systemd. Upgrades same process. Give it good CPUs and it won't ask much of your resources. @stephenbuttolph and team really did an amazing job with the codebase.

I had completely tuned out of the BCH/XEC conversation. I would like to acknowledge @deadalnix huge contribution though and thank him for always fighting the good fight.
@zquestz @TobiasRuck @deadalnix He tried to prevent the slow death that BCH (and eCash) is seeing from the more agile competition, so it could see the light of day when sentiment corrects back toward censorship resistant money. It wasn't successful but was far from an attempt at destruction.

The way avalanche doesn't have a roadmap is a side effect of the different way they are building a Blockchain. They're doing science. They are solving the problems while establishing the truth about the technology. There's no roadmap since where they're going there's no road yet.

If you look around at tenured projects, you'll notice that they're often weighed down by current implementations or decisions. It makes the devs lives harder. It's hard to build on rough foundations and you don't want to optimise the bad design. Net effect, progress slows.

HyperSDK ❤️ BIG Blocks. The theoretical replication capacity for Vryx. In theory assuming a 400 B tx size the max tx capacity per block is ~22m. 300k transaction blocks would require a network capacity of 120/960 GB Up/Down bandwidth. Possible on fiber optic with 1s blocks
