I have been in this woman's shoes. Same sentencing outcome in 2022 for an assault that, according to the Gardai, could easily have killed me. Same judge. While I understand the system, victims never get justice.
Natasha O’Brien addresses the thousands who have gathered at a demonstration in Limerick city centre.
Soldier Cathal Crotty received a fully suspended sentence after pleaded guilty to beating Ms O'Brien unconscious in a random street attack.
1/2 Very happy to report that I will take up a new role at
@MICLimerick
as Access & Disability officer (acting) on Monday. Looking forward to supporting students to access higher education and embrace inclusivity.

Elena, my bags have been picked for random checks numerous numerous times. There is an algorithm where every x bag gets pulled in for a manual search - happens at all airports. I do not think there is discrimination at work here with respect. Safe flight!
Seriously, who are the researchers on
@drivetimerte
. The discussion on drug use so uninformed. Back to the past. The usual suspects invited, I am actually angry now.
Been going away for a girls' weekend to Malaga for several years. Booked last night for end February. For €250 I'll get return flights & 3 nights in a 4star hotel on the beach (breakfast incl). You would be lucky to get one night in Limerick for that. I cannot wait!
@DaraghFleming
Daragh. I have 3 kids in their 20s. One is your age. 2 of them have to endure living with me (single mom) for how long none of us know. I hear you loud and clear. It is a scandal.
Just had a 'chat' with a Limerick TD canvassing. In the past I used not to bother but now I do. 3 issues
1) Housing for working adults in their 20s - non existent - my 2 poor ones are doomed to live with me
2) Curb the far-rights
3) Drug policy
I'm sure you know how far I got.
Lunch time walk took me down to the old Corbally baths. Would it not be great to see them restored and tons of people enjoying them on a beautiful day like today

I will be doing a case study (qualitative research) piece in collaboration with the DOH in the CHO 3/

Happy to announce that I have started
@UL
today. I will work with the Healthy Campus team, with a focus on substance use and related issues. Back to familiar grounds 😊

The media need to stop covering this circus. I feel very sorry for this school community... I will withold my views on himself and his family.
Happy to report that I (and thus Ireland) has been selected to be involved in the Civil Society Forum on Drugs project "The influence of the European Action Plan 2017-2020 on national drug policies”.

Today's protests are

. As opposed to others that have taken place on this island in the past year or so. The public reaction to this week's events have made me positive again. (Anyway 'they' were always chased out of my city) 💪

The investigating Garda in my case kept telling me I was lucky to be alive. She was brilliant. And yes I am happy to have come through and almost back to the old me now. Almost 5 yrs later.

I am an

customer and a tax payer. I really hope they will be made to answer some serious questions. The State (we) were a major stakeholder in the bank 2017. We wrote off over 9 million euro and then had to pay for it. I am very angry 😠

Although I have been on annual leave for the past couple of weeks, today is my last official day at Mary Immaculate College. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work there in different roles. Now onto a new challenge to be announced on Monday!

My 2 did not get their first choice but instead of accepting no 2 they did a PLC course, matured, gained skills, gained entry to their course of choice and are flying it. So many options

I coordinate our drug tents at each event, they are *not* monitored and it’s acknowledged that people come to us for all reasons.
We take in samples for public health purposes in agreement with all stakeholders without any issues.
No issues have emerged at any event to date.
Feeling the best I've done in a several weeks and I putting it down to meeting work colleagues and friends face to face, nature and the sun 🌞

A year ago I was at a very low point, totally overwhelmed with the effects of

Longing for a mountain or a beach today. Or my morning coffee and chat in Story Cafe. 3 weeks in and although I'm super-resilient, today I woke up feeling the effects of restrictions & isolation. Not anxious, just a bit sad & tired 😑

Unacceptable. Girls/women should not be subjected to this. Hopefully CCTV will have captured at least an image of the person.
Having worked from home since March I have listened to Sarah McInerney most days and she has been excellent. Not afraid to ask the hard questions. I'm going to miss her for sure

Stumbled upon
#operationtransformation
. Have not watched in years. Don't know why it has not been scrapped. Perpetuates the idea of individual responsibility for health when public health knows it is mainly economic, political & social factors that determines health. 🙄
Holiday in South France coming up. Paying 350 for an apt for 7 nights in central Marseille (175 pp). Flight was 100 return. And get to watch 2 fine rugby finals for a total of 55. French food & wine. Eat that one

for me this year!
Not sure how to cope with at least 2 more months of lockdown. Senior GAA fine but for a minority. We need to get a haircut, meet for a coffee, get back in the gym 😔😔😔 also, need to see the sea
It's the first day of Level Five
We're gonna have to find ways to thrive
But let's not despair
Lots of support is there
And sooner than we think, Dec 1st will arrive
