Engineer Habtamu Tegene Destaye, Minister of Mines of Ethiopia had an interview with the ASSAY TV in Cape Town South Africa, during Investing in African mining Indaba 2025. On the Investors special 121 MINING INVESTMENT panel discussion H.E. Engineer Habtamu Tegene Destaye, the minister of mine, and all the delegations including Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria participated the panel discussion. H.E. the Minister had an opportunity to give detailed interviews about Ethiopiaโs participation and its huge potentials in the mining sector. H.E. explained the Ethiopiaโs untapped opportunities with variety of minerals across the country. The minister also briefed that mining sector is one of the priority sectors for which the ministry and government of Ethiopia is committed to make business friendly environment to the investors. @MinistryofMine_

INVESTING IN AFRICAN MINING INDABA 2025 officially kicked off today February 3, 2025 in Capetown International convection center in the presence of Ethiopian mining Minister and Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria. Engineer Habtamu Tegegne, Ethiopian minister of mines led the Ethiopian delegation including Ethiopian private sector in mines. More 300 exhibitors including Ethiopia and more than 1200 visitors are attending this miming indaba. The main aim of this indaba is to stage for powerful discussions and collaboration, bringing industry leaders and policymakers together to drive meaningful change in Africa's mining industry. It is also days of insights, connections, and forward-thinking dialogue! promote African miming opportunities and to connect the opportunities with Investors and sector financials who can deal to the mutual benefits and development. Ethiopia showing up in this big mining Indaba will use this opportunity to promote its untapped mineral resources. The Indaba will continue until 6th of February 2025. The Ethiopian ministry of mining and Ethiopian Embassy will attend the indaba and to identify and discuss with potential International investors in the sector. @MinistryofMine_

Business Meeting held at the Embassy of Ethiopia โ Pretoria On January 27th, 2025, the Ethiopian Embassyโs Economic Diplomacy Division held a productive discussion with Ms. Karen Lam, CEO of LAM ATTORNEYS INC which is a Chinese company based in South Africa. During the discussion, Ms. Karen Lam expressed her Company's keen interest in expanding her business to Ethiopia in areas of Electric and Hybrid Automotive motors, Infrastructure, and 5G Technologies. She also requests the Ethiopian Embassy to provide information and facilitate meetings with relevant Ethiopian government officials and private business sectors. In response, the embassy welcomed LAM ATTORNEYS INCโs business interest in Ethiopia and briefed them on the various Investment and Trade opportunities in Ethiopia, including the government's priority sectors of Agriculture, Manufacturing, Mining, Tourism, and ICT. The embassy also expressed its keen interest in supporting them in providing business information and in facilitating meetings in Ethiopia with relevant government officials, professionals and private business organizations. The 9th APRM Focal Points meeting has been concluded today, January 20, 2025, at the APRM Continental Secretariat in Midrand, Johannesburg, Representing the Ethiopian Focal Point, H.E. Mr. Delil Kedir, the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to South Africa, participated on behalf of H.E. Dr. Fitsum Assefa, the Minister of Planning and development. Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Rose Quatre, CEO of the APRM Continental Secretariat, delivered vital updates on strategic activities, financial matters, and key agenda items. The Chairperson of the APR Focal Points Committee, H.E. Ambassador Selama Bakhta Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People Democratic Republic of Algeria, in Charge of African Affairs, thanked the attendees and further demanded full commitment of member countries in upcoming virtual and face to face as well as hybrid meeting to support the objective of the mechanism. The Focal Points meeting has decisively endorsed the annual working plan, finalized the agenda for the upcoming Ordinary Sessions, and outlined robust working programs for the year 2025. Furthermore, we have confirmed the schedule for meetings of Heads of State and governments of APRM member countries in Addis Ababa during the AU General Assembly in February 2025. This gathering is crucial for advancing our collective goals and objectives, including good governance, democratization, and dispensation of Agenda 2063 and Agenda 2030 in respective member countries and the entire continent.
