MPs should stop politicizing the Karamoja hunger, let’s join hands and save lives. OPM is finalizing relief distributing to the region but the intended beneficiaries are left out. Cabinet has approved yesterday funds for relief for the next 3 month and WFP, UNICEF, FAO are on it

Fellow Citizens, Uganda is witnessing increased rainfall leading to flash floods particularly in Kasese & parts of Kampala. The rain forecast indicates that wetter conditions are expected in the Elgon subregion stretching into parts of Karamoja in the last 10 days of June 2023.
Birthday wishes and blessings are in order, May the Grace of our Lord be with you as you lead the people of Bukedea and the 11th parliament. Epol Edeke

We are very optimistic that with the leadership of HE the President of Uganda as co-convener, the Uganda Refugee response will gain a lot from this upcoming GRF.
2023 will be decisive for the CRRF Refugee response in Uganda. The upcoming Global Refugee Forum will give us an opportunity to highlight our successes & to push the International Community for concrete pledges & contributions that will deliver tangible benefits to refugees

The conversation should start from here, Refugee issue is an international burden we should be given proper attention because the country is still recovering from Covid shocks and disasters
Flooding in low-lands & landslides in highland areas of Kapchorwa, Bukedea, Sironko, Bududa affecting sustainable development. Government is committed to ensuring quick response. Communities in high-risk areas prone to landslides should relocate to temporary gazetted places.
The torrential rains are back we request communities to be vigilant and keep our families safe during the festival. Merry Christmas

Let us use this forum as a tool for resource mobilization, and an opportunity to showcase how far we have come, but also to re-assess what we need in order to go further. Let us look to other countries to see what Uganda can learn from them and them from us.

Distribution has been on going can you start by protecting the little OPM is sending to the people to ensure those needy , last month I sent Kaabong alone 13 trucks @ of 20,000kg of posho and 10,000 kgs beans, so stop stealing relief and save lives

Karamoja has been hit by floods most roads and Irish bridges have been washed away, making service delivery a great challenge. We hope government can do something to help the people
I am convinced that the world can learn from Uganda what it means to be a welcoming host for those in need of protection. More importantly, we also have challenges to share as the largest host in Africa. It is our common responsibility to find durable solutions to them.
Yesterday, I visited Bushenyi to stand with the communities that had their plantations recently destroyed & animals killed following the disastrous hailstorms & heavy rains in the area.
Government of Uganda is committed to supporting these communities to get back on their feet.
@biziabby
Patiently waiting for your singular strategy as government will implement agreeable and holistic policies that even host communities will benefit without political affiliation.
Karamoja leaders joined development partners in a dialogue at Hilton Gardens Hotel, Kampala to take stock of progress made towards prevention of child trafficking. Karamoja is Uganda’s epicenter of child trafficking. More needs to be done.
Ugandans will trumpet a one off hicup and mention less best practices ,on Friday I traveled to Nbi on i arrival I was asked for yellow fever card which I had misplaced but the guy below at JIK had the audacity to rude-mentally tell me “God back to Uganda if you don’t have it” 😤
Under the leadership of H.E., the President, Uganda continues to maintain an open-door refugee policy guided by the principles of Pan-Africanism. It is why over 1.5 million refugees call Uganda home. As a country, our aim is to create a better everyday life for our people.
1. Districts in Mt.Elgon areas, Kabale, Kasese and other high-risk areas should take precaution and relocate from landslide and flood prone areas to avoid loss of lives and livelihoods.
2. Travelers are advised to avoid crossing flooded sections of the roads.
However, relaxation of rainfall activity is expected in southern, central cattle corridor and in the areas adjacent to Lake Victoria. Flooding risk also remains high in Southwestern, Western, Eastern West Nile and Karamoja regions.
Owing to this, all concerned are advised to:
