Probably a unpopular opinion but I really think it’s time to stop broadcasting ambulance programs. I don’t see the benefits. It’s intrusive,it’s fake, it wrongly educates the public, increases our workload, shows good staff but also bad practise and unsafe practise

This week I sent home a crew that attended a horrific incident. One member clearly upset and still in shock and the other was doing his best to ignore everything. They didn't want to go home as it was busy and they were ‘ok’. right or wrong thing to do?

How is it possible one trust has this standard of fleet and another has 12 year old skoda’s that are literally falling apart and not fit for purpose 🙈🤯🤯🤯
Visited our vehicle commissioning centre this morning - all of these vehicles almost ready for TeamLAS to use! All are electric, hybrid or low weight diesels that use 20% less fuel than normal ambulance

To add to this for more info I sent them back to station for welfare support, organised trim follow up and appointed a manager for direct support, they were not forced to go home alone but shift completely stopped and I actually advised they went out for food and a drink

2 weeks of the most mentally and physically challenging course,completing the 2023 pre hospital emergency medical crew course (HEMS crew course)but by far the best course I have ever been on and will be career changing for me 🚁🚨🚑

Many years ago I had to stay in a tent for several weeks while completing my EMT course, I’m now staying in a golf course and spa in the honey moon suit for my hems course. Good measurement of progress 🤣🤣

This is tragic but there’s an opportunity to raise awareness. Right now the UK would not be able to deal with this to a satisfactory level due to No. resources required, skills available, specialist services being promptly available, hospitals already in major incident .1/2

Yesterday morning, with all of us by his side, dad passed away after a very brief and unexpected battle with cancer. This is an incredibly heartbreaking loss for us all, and we are utterly devastated, we will truly miss him as a beloved dad and grandad forever. RIP dad ❤️

Really interesting moment last night with a staff member at the Bp garageI stopped at to buy team coffee’s and cookies for a de-brief I was about to do and when the staff member passed them all over he said I really hope it wasn’t that bad despite no conversation between us 😂

Our team do a lot of call backs and on average we have been able to redirect 60% of 111 referrals to the ambulance service, most of them being c2 calls ! I believe there should be a process of ambulance services actually accepting the calls rather than them being auto passed over
As a paramedic the 111 comment is one that I really can get behind. I can’t tell you how many patients we respond to who open the door with “we didn’t want/need an ambulance but 111 said they had to send one”. The NHS is and always will be (to its own detriment), too risk-averse.

Remember staff are only happy when they are moaning, when we are not moaning be very worried 😂 I have a strong analogy that if you gave each member of staff a £20 note on the way in every morning as good will gesture someone will eventually moan they want it in 2x£10 notes 😂😂

Does anyone know if my gp surgery is pulling my leg or not? I’ve been taking melatonin via a private script for 6 months now due to my ADHD/MH. It’s worked a treat so it’s been sent across on a shared care document but the Gp said they can’t prescribe this to adults until 55 🤯

We need to stop explaining away the poor mental well-being across the ambulance workforce to simply ‘traumatic jobs’, and start having a serious conversation about the impact of constant and relentless performance measurement/management. From clocking on, to shift handover.
