Good news! Our baby was born yesterday (Boxing Day). She’s doing well and so is her mum. We’re delighted and a bit exhausted. I expect there will be a pause in the podcast for a little while but LEP will be back soon. Happy New Year and cheers everyone!! 👶🍾🥂❤️
“Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog. You understand it better but the frog dies in the process.” ~E.B. White. Thank you to Evgenia Markevich for this illustration of me recording episode 656 of my podcast!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Wishing everyone the best for 2023. Thank you for supporting the podcast during 2022 - listening, sharing, commenting, becoming a premium subscriber. I’m looking forward to lots of different episodes in 2023, and I hope you find them entertaining and useful! 🥳🎧
I'll probably hit 100,000 subscribers on YouTube in the next 7 days or so. Consider subscribing to my channel if you want to give me a boost and to see my videos when I upload them. 📺👍
Podcast update: It's still a busy time! We're still working on the flat. My pod-room still doesn't have electricity or internet. My daughter was off school with covid so I couldn't work (she's fine) then I was ill and couldn't work (I'm fine)! But LEP will be back in 1-2 weeks.🙏
Preparing a podcast about vocab for describing how it feels to be on lockdown. Coming soon... (as soon as I find time to actually record it, potentially tonight) 🎙🎧👍
I published 13 podcast episodes this month (normal, premium, app-only) which is nearly 15 hours of content in total. I think I deserve my holiday now! 🗺 🏖 🍹

for one of his big shows at Le Grand Rex in Paris. This should be fun - let’s hope the audience can actually understand me! No Russian jokes allowed.
Weird coincidence! In ep.673 my brother talked about his fake UFO picture, printed in the local newspaper. He found the original paper at our parents’ house today. Oddly enough, the photo was printed on Weds 29 July 1987. Today is also Weds 29 July. Coincidence? ...or aliens?
New episode! LEP

- A ramble challenge in my new pod-room with a tour of the room, some grammar, some adverbs and a story about a gameshow. YouTube version available.
Just woke up from a vivid dream in which I was hanging out with David Bowie (1972 era) and we got on really well and he was definitely going to be a guest on my podcast. We both agreed that The Rutles was our favourite film ever, which was nice.
Lots of people asking for my comments on Ukraine, or saying “why are you silent about Ukraine?” And “this is no time for jokes”.
I did a whole episode about Ukraine already (760) and of course I completely disagree with the invasion.
Can't understand TV and films these days without subtitles? Apparently, neither can native speakers. Dialogue in TV and films is often just really hard to hear! Why?
