It’s a very common sight to see Arab men or men from the subcontinent holding hands, it’s a sign of friendship. There’s also a greeting where the men literally go nose to nose to greet one another. It’s just a cultural thing.

I've just spoken to my contact at the authorities. He says this is 100% illegal. The animal will have been purchased illegally, no permit, unacceptable. They will investigate and confiscate the animal.

It's basically a laxative. One of the main ingredients is Senna - which should really only be taken for constipation. This stuff should never EVER be used long term or if you have any kind of digestive/bowel issue. People need more awareness of this.

Today is my UAE anniversary. 18 years ago in 2003 I stepped off a plane, a dog and a cat in tow to start a new life here. It’s been an adventure. Many highs and super lows. Will see what happens next.

The 'show-off' mentality of people in Dubai is starting to get a bit much. I was talking to a couple of Emirati friends last night, who said people need to be more humble and not put everything on display and keep good deeds and success under wraps. They're not wrong.
