Every time I see Gregg Wallace's face I remember reading that on divorcing one of his many wives, he returned to pick up his belongings from their house and only took his collection of porn magazines that he had stashed in the basement.
I’ve always had ‘that’ feeling about Wallace without having anything tangible to pin it on but having read this I can say with clarity and certainty the man is a self-centred arsehole of the highest order.

There are a lot of wild (imo) takes in this thread. Of course writers need editors! If you don’t want your work to be edited, or think it doesn’t need to be edited, then I suspect you’re probably not very good.
Editors aren't intrinsic to writing. They're just an artifact of how the publishing business works.
