I love living by the water but this area of Vicky Dock can often look grim with all the rubbish... mainly plastic bottles. Just 20 minutes work & 2 big bin bags full later & it's cleared. Some will say it's a waste of time but surely ignoring it is worse.

Some good news after what's been a rubbish week. Only gone & bought the flat I've been renting for the past 5 years haven't I! Took all that time but i've done it all on my own. I love my little flat, it's been a happy place & it's now mine. Quite proud of my little myself! 💪🏻😊

Love this old warehouse building down High Street in Kingston upon Hull. Does anybody know what it used to be used for or if it is actually in use for anything today? The door lamp is always on.

Social media has been grimm lately but today a dog went missing locally. I saw the post after work & went out with a torch along with some other total strangers for hours to look. Found him scared but well around 8pm. Social media mixed with community spirit can do good ❤

Social media at it's finest! A missing dog (2nd day) who escaped from a dog sitter. I only saw the post at 7pm so set off to help. I found him in a load of brambles hungry, dehydrated but alive. Reunited with a very tired and relieved family who had been out day and night 💙🐶

Fascinating to see this geological fault at Staple Neuk (Bempton Cliffs) whilst on board the Yorkshire Belle yesterday.
The most northerly chalk in England, which was faulted, folded & generally distorted by the last Alpine Orogeny. The same fault that formed the Alps in Europe.

There was a big turn out today at Withernsea RNLI Station this morning for the one minute applause for Steve Medcalf. I heard some great stories about him and everyone said the same thing, 'he had a heart of gold'.

Sad sight when PPE is tangled up in nature. Cans, bottles and fast food wrappers galore. Lost count of cig butts past 50. Plenty of bins around, typically you have to walk no longer than 5 mins to come across one. I'll never understand littering 😡

Bit of local history from my walk today. The sound mirror at Kilnsea. It was built during WW1.
A microphone would have been fitted to the metal post in front of the mirror and an operator would use headphones to listen for an approaching enemy aircraft.
Pretty fascinating 🤓

Removed this from the beach at Tunstall today. There isn't a need to take these to a beach, you can get solid discs if you really must.
These frisbees are so dangerous to marine wildlife especially curious seals. They can be fatal.
Leave nothing but footprints! Not hard is it 🤷🏼♀️

Incredible to see Bull Sand Fort up close yesterday.
This fort is the larger of two island forts built between 1915 and 1919 to defend the mouth of the River Humber during the First World War... And it's still standing!

Yesterday's 18:53 high tide on the left and today's 19:37 high tide on the right have both been very high at Victoria Dock as the flood warnings for the area stated. It has tipped over onto the path slightly on occasion. Thankful for the flood defences we have that's for sure!

Fascinates me. At least 66 million years trapped in rock and I'm the first to see it! Curiosity can be a wonderful thing.

Birthday weekend away. Had a 9 mile walk around the Hope Valley area of the Peak District. Stopping at Stannage Edge for lunch and checked out Robin Hoods Cave whilst there. Lovely to see the heather on the moorland too! You can't beat days like these 🥾💚

Got a fold up bike last weekend. Did 12 miles on it today. Shocked at how comfortable it is! I judged it too quickly! 😆
