Recently, I've been devouring books on the UAP topic from people whose opinions I really respect. One thing I've begun to notice is that I'm finding myself looking at religion, ancient civilizations, and even human history differently.
Anyone else?
Ironically, it's the same debunkers who have been screaming "show me the evidence," that are ignoring and even objecting to a bill that literally aims to show us the evidence.
Can someone explain something to me? Debunkers say "it couldn't be aliens because it couldn't travel this far". Is it not the height of stupidity to take our knowledge of astrophysics and extrapolate it to include all alien civilizations? How do we know what they can/can't do?
Here, Mick, a game coder thinks that the claims and documents presented by Dave, a senior intelligence to Congress, under oath are inaccurate. He arrived at this belief prior to official investigations and without seeing these documents. How is this skepticism?
Mick West, self described science communicator describes the peer review process as a waste of time. He also states he's happy to submit to scrutiny, but only on Youtube. The peer review process forces you to remove errors, Youtube doesn't. Debunkers promote pseudoscience

Members of Congress, some of whom attended a SCIF in relation to this subject, don't trust the Pentagon's report on UAP.

Is it just me, or has the very public push back to disclosure seemed to accelerate something? The mood of the public, the media, and lawmakers seems to have changed. The gatekeepers have made this an even bigger issue than it was.

We're past the point of no return. Either this turns out to be a government conspiracy as Mick West and the debunkers say, or it's the biggest scientific discovery in history.

UFOlogists talk about the need to move the needle. I agree, but where I disagree with some is what that looks like. I don’t think convincing debunkers is progress. These people are contrarians, not scientists or philosophers. Science does not need their approval
#uapdisclosure
Big respect to Graves for confronting debunkers such as Greenstreet. Both Greenstreet and West are not investigating this phenomenon but spreading disinformation. They are also stigmatising those who are making honest efforts to elucidate the nature of the phenomenon.

I would love it as a species, as scientists, if we could discover the power and beauty of saying "I don't know but I want to find out". People who aren't scientists have convinced some of us to be ashamed of curiosity.

UAPs are a mystery to me. The bigger mystery is the debunker. They argue aviation with pilots and argue logic with scientists such as

on the interpretation of data from a position of authority. What training or education did they undertake to do this with confidence?
One of the ways in which we treat the UAP topic with more respect is to engage less with the pseudoskeptic community. We do not need to gain their approval for our interest in this topic anymore than anyone studying gravity needs agreement on Metabunk for their latest hypothesis
Can someone explain this to me.
Are some people actually trying to cast doubt on the veracity of the claims that whistle-blowers have made because they haven't released the highly sensitive data they describe?
The data, in most cases, is wrapped up in NDAs and national
So I've briefly read this report. I can not find a single shred of data therein. It's simply an opinion piece from the gospel of Kirkpatrick.
The report attempts to ridicule whistle-blowers and their testimony. It even dismisses threats made against these people. Kirkpatrick

This match alone (Mick was incorrect that there’s a match at any distance) seals the deal.
Adding in no fewer than three other ultra-ultra-low probability malfunctions *plus* context (GoFast, daily UAP incursions, mission debrief, Congress, etc.) retires Mick’s theory for good.
@DoD_AARO
Will you also cite a fandom page in your next report? Will you also provide results and methodology of analysis you claimed to have carried out on materials. Will you subject any of your data to the peer review process?
Sean Kirkpatrick, the scientist charged with collecting and assessing data on UAP, has allegedly lied about collecting data on UAP. The difference between Project Bluebook and AARO is that now the media and the public via social media are in a position to call out misinformation.
Mick West computer games programmer who lectures pilots about aviation and scientists on science says someone else isn't qualified to talk about this topic.
Every tweet from
@MickWest
on the UAP topic is designed to cast doubt on the veracity of the issue. Pilots may be lying, congress may be mislead or radar instruments may be faulty. Anything except UAPs being a real issue. This is a contrarian approach, not a scientific one.
@MickWest
Could it be seagulls? That's what you said last time. Stick to that rather than changing your answer every time. BTW, where are your peer-reviewed papers on the subject? I keep checking and can't seem to find any. That said, sorry you are not charismatic.
Mick previously twisted what Grusch's lawyers stated to attack his credibility. Here we see the complaint that was described as credible and urgent by the inspector general. This is huge but Mick ignores this, and attacks Dave's credibility. This is completely disingenuous
Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet on Karl Nell's interview at the SALT conference. There's not much to add to the contributions that these two gents have made.
That said, there's just two small points point from my side. Think about the statements Karl Nell made in relation to NHI.
You know, I'm actually happy that the AARO report contained no evidence, cited fandom pages, and lacked credibility.
It was always going to be disinformation. It's far better to have it in this form than something more believable.
It also serves as evidence for Congress that
In the latest Need to Know episode, Ross states that Dave supplied the names of people who worked on the hidden programs to those he testified to. Those people were called to testify under oath and corroborated Dave's story. This in itself is huge.

The saddest thing about the gutting of the legislation is the fact that the moral burden is still on whistle-blowers and disclosure advocates instead of the government. When it came down to it, Congress lacked the courage of Grusch, Elizondo, Nolan, Mellon, Nell, and others.
AARO's website describes the FLIR, GIMBAL and GOFAST events as unresolved. All of the videos were taken by military personal, often recorded with multiple high resolution sensors. AARO has access to more of the data than we do. These are not planes, balloons or birds.

The most disturbing part of this for me isn't the allegation that AARO isn't taking whistle-blower testimony seriously. It's the possibility that AARO, not being a good faith actor, could be relaying whistle-blower information to organisations the individual is exposing.
AARO is a fly paper operation, designed to shield a couple of very specific CIA, DOE, Air Force and NGO operational recovery, reverse engineering and advanced technology programs from would-be whistleblowers. They even have a website where would-be whistleblowers can blow away
Speaking as a scientist, I'm getting increasingly angry that so-called scientists might be hiding the truth of the phenomenon from the world. They are operating in opposition to science and should have their doctorates stripped away from them. This is scientific fraud.

1.Hey all, not sure why I'm writing this but it needs to be said. I had a bad accident today (electric shock) which ended with me being in hospital. I was alone at the time but luckily, a doctor friend back in Ireland talked to me when I regained counciousness.
The UAP issue arose due to people from all walks of life observing things that don't fit. The anecdotal evidence has now expanded to include optical and radar data. Why do debunkers ignore the data and leap to "it's not aliens". This isn't how science works. Change is needed
#UAP
Let's not forget that this whole topic is more than just entertainment on Twitter. There's actually people putting their lives, careers and reputations on the line to bring more information to the public. We should be supporting them in coming forward, not constantly demanding

Well, we have our evidence that private aerospace companies and sections of the American government are coordinating an active cover-up of information relating to UAP.

@DrBrianKeating
"It's never aliens" is also a belief, and a pretty strong one at that. I lose faith in science communicators when I hear "it's always" or "it's never".
Excuse my Irish directness, but this is f-ing idiotic. The debunkers know that the whistle-blower has provided evidence to those leading the investigation. They seem to think not releasing classified files to a TV network proves that Dave is lying.

@newsnation
Will you present physical evidence of aliens, high resolution photographs, your camera crew in the hanger where the alien spaceship & bodies are stored? Or are we in for yet another show with someone who says they met someone who says they saw/touched the craft?
It's not clear from this picture if Mick is asking AARO for evidence or Mr Sheehan. I can, however, take an educated guess that Mick doesn't have a problem with a report that includes no data, methodology, and cites a fandom page.
He's only fit to be ignored at this stage.
Sorry to be so blunt but saying Mick's a science communicator is insulting to the those who actually follow the scientific method. He is against the peer review process is that he wouldn't be able to change his statements, feigns ignorance or twists facts like he does here
#UAP
I'll be quite honest. Mick West's target audience is the uneducated who enjoy feeling a sense of superiority over someone else. It doesn't matter what he writes they'll accept it as science. Even if Stanford or Harvard professors warn us against it.
Project Bluebook succeeded as a disinformation campaign because it was simply the media reporting their statements as facts. What's changed now is that we have social media, independent media, and podcasts. Now, our voices can be heard.

I don't think it's worth trying to talk to West. He has a book, a bias and a website that's dependent on contrarianism. He can't afford to say anything different. What's worrying is that his followers seem to apply little critical thinking to his bizarre claims.
@DrBrianKeating
Brian, a lot of Congressmen and women, scientists, and former intelligence service members are putting their reputation on the line to verify this claim. They don't seem to be asking for your unconditional belief. Maybe support them instead of making sarcastic comments?
@blackvaultcom
What is completely ignored here is that we know now that AARO's report was a propaganda tool. It had no science, only conclusions. It was described by Chris Mellon as one of the worst government reports that he has seen. So all of what you have written is irrelevant. It doesn't
"He (Sean) downplayed the possible existence of a secret program that he is not privy to, saying, "Nothing has been denied us."
So someone's lying here. I also think it's suspicious that Sean is giving an interview so close to the hearing.
@Renate_FE
This element of debunking fascinates me. It couldn't be aliens because aliens couldn't get here based on what we know about space travel. So he assumes all civilizations are limited by our knowledge of space travel.
I spent my scientific career trying to carry out experiments and publish papers. It turns out that real science is carried out by editing other people’s Wikipedia page to make them look less impressive. Debunkers are misrepresenting what science is and that is dangerous.
#UAP
Apparently, the Metabunk/Wikipedia page police are rejecting that a criticism section is appropriate for Mick as his critics likely are crackpots.
How is it that those who use science as a weapon are often ignorant of it.

For all the ufologists sending me abuse, I tried to get testimony or evidence that contradicted Kirkpatrick’s claims.
People told me they knew ppl who sent info to AARO and were ignored, but they provided no evidence for this. None.
The former deputy assistant secretary of Defense for Intelligence writes an article calling for US to disclose possession of an alien craft. I don't see how anyone could miss the significance of this. Debunkers should ask themselves what Chris has to gain by writing this.

They also demand evidence from people campaigning for the release of evidence.

The latest publication to serve as Kirkpatrick's personal propaganda platform is the Guardian.

"Grusch also claimed that the Men in Black were on his case and were harassing other witnesses."
Did Grusch refer to people as

If this isn't a reality check for his followers then what is?
The debunkers seem up in arms that the Navy UAP videos are being referred to as both anomalous and unresolved. They (Metabunk) claim nothing anomalous is evident, but AARO, with all the data available, actually states that the cases are anomalous, not just the video.
