(1/2) Operational UAP reporting provides essential data to AARO and helps DOD to better understand and respond to UAP. Last year, AARO worked with the Joint Staff to issue guidance to the military services and combatant commands on how to report UAP incidents.

In 2022, AARO contracted Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to analyze a magnesium alloy specimen alleged to demonstrate extraordinary qualities. ORNL's findings and AARO's assessment of the object's likely origin are available here:
