The Rt Revd Dr John Armes has announced that he will retire as @BishopEdinburgh on 31 August this year. Bishop John, who was consecrated as 26th Bishop of Edinburgh in May 2012, will reach his 70th birthday later this year. 🔗 Full announcement here:

Edinburgh is home to some of Scotland’s most beautiful cathedrals. I am proud that St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in the West End is featured in the Royal Mail's speciality Christmas stamp collection. Today I pushed forward for a debate on the future of these churches.👇

‼️ Can anyone help @bethanychtrust this Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, 5pm-10pm? 🍲 They urgently need 3-6 people to help prepare a hot meal for vulnerable people at their Haymarket Welcome Centre. ☎️Contact welcomecentreadmin@bethanychristiantrust.com or phone 0131 561 8927.
The Welcome Centre is the start of so many people's story of hope. Last year, 787 individual people accessed the Welcome Centre. Each person was greeted with a warm bed, hot meal and positive support to help them find long-term accommodation and greater stability in their life.
