So they believe in a theory where the president can do whatever he wants as the head of the executive, but they also think the court can’t check the president either. … so they openly believe in dictatorship?
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal. Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.

This kind of thing makes me lose what little hope I have in the Democratic Party. You can’t credibly criticize Trump’s ties to billionaires when you’re begging for the wealthy’s money too. American politics shouldn’t be a begging the rich for money competition.

@Paul_Dehlinger People in the bottom half of the income distribution already pay almost no tax, so basically any change to the income tax code outside of increasing the standard deduction is net regressive in its distribution.

Every single Democrat in the Senate voted to confirm this man as the Secretary of State, and I won't get over that.
I will NOT attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg. South Africa is doing very bad things. Expropriating private property. Using G20 to promote “solidarity, equality, & sustainability.” In other words: DEI and climate change. My job is to advance America’s national interests, not waste taxpayer money or coddle anti-Americanism.

The reason for the removal of these DEI programs in private companies seems pretty simple: These companies sense a culture shift where DEI programs are not considered valuable enough for their public image to justify the cost. Obviously they never really cared.
BREAKING: Google, $GOOGL, is eliminating minority hiring goals and will review its DEI programs, per WSJ

@envisionedluna Is it better for poor people to have access to soda and candy if they want or for the state to pay benefits administrators to prevent this access? One is market enhancing, one is pure deadweight loss. Sin taxes is the only thing that makes policy sense.

kneecapping USAID (among other things) allows China to fill leadership gaps abroad. The U.S. should not pull back from the international community. Instead, we should double down.
A lot of people are portraying USAID as some sort of bastion of looney DEI excesses. Let’s take a look at what the sudden arresting of their operation is doing to global health. Please read the thread (my thread, not Ryan James’):
