Catholic she-piper. Crazy bird lady. Likes big old boats. Would like to know if you need bags with that.

@ContextBirds No bird relishes jumping right into the middle of a bowl of food quite like a cockatiel. No better fun than washing a 'tiel covered in tinned stew, tomato soup, or pasta sauce. Ask me how I know.

@FrTotleben92742 For ages the only place I saw The View was at the dentist or the hospital. For years I used to believe that it was a streaming channel for medical waiting rooms because I couldn't believe anything that bad was for general consumption.

@RealMattFradd It clicked when I saw this image of Jose Sanchez del Rio (modern but so powerful). It's not the modern clothing. It's the lack of any spiritual cues. If the statue wasn't in the context of a church, you wouldn't know it was a saint.

@BarkJack_ It's a routine gesture. To not do so would look petty and churlish for no good reason.

Your alternative is what Saudi Arabia does. It has a toxic effect on the native population, breeding entitlement while creating a de facto slave class. Imo a better solution is optimizing the workers we have, including employing our growing permanent welfare class, while encouraging an increase in the birth rate. Give families robust tax cuts for having children like they do in Hungary.

@FrMatthewLC Buy a copy of the St. Joseph Guide to the Liturgy of the Hours. It lists all of the newer memorials and flags them as (New) as needed.

@RosaryMum This is why I struggle with Fatima. If these little kids spoke to the Blessed Virgin Mary and saw miracles, why in every photo do they look so miserable? Am I really the only person bothered this?

@MbarkCherguia @navarres Okay, now my birds are awake and screaming at me. I think they're all nice, but the parrots really liked the cardinal.

@FrHilderbrand It's a feedback loop. People stopped being generous because they felt they didn't need to be, and the less they were the more the state had to step in. Generosity is like a muscle that wastes away if you don't use it. You can work that muscle back in shape but it's going to hurt.

@shellenberger I don't see heroes defending democracy. I see a mob of privileged one percenters brow beating and harassing a front-line worker. I've been that worker and I've dealt with those people. He did well and they are a-holes.

My Twitter feed this morning is filled with X Y and Z Catholic charities announcing they've lost their funding. I can't respond to all of them but. Don't take government money guys. Don't get cozy with the state. It's not your friend. Don't be Avignon 2.0. Having a bottomless bucket of gubment money doesn't make you more effective. It makes you lazy and it attracts thieves. Get lean, get back to Gospel principles, and stop whining.

@militaryhistori 100 years from the Battle of Trafalgar to the launching of Dreadnought. What a century.

@VaticanNews There's no way the multi-billions given to CRS all went to the poor. There is massive fraud going back years that needs to be investigated. The mega funding needs to end permanently.

@JamesMartinSJ Per DOGE, Catholic Relief Services has already received 4.6 billion dollars from the US government. What did they do with it?
