📣 The European Public Prosecution Office arrests ringleader of €100 million fraud scheme with mafia ties A suspected ringleader of a €100 million fraud scheme was arrested on the 4th February at Bucharest "Henri Coanda" International Airport. 2 other suspects have also been put in custody. According to the @EUProsecutor report, members of a criminal gang used Italian companies to gain access to EU funding, organised by public authorities in Romania. These funds were thought to be going towards construction, drinking water rehabilitation and sewage systems.
