It is possible to reduce barriers.
The @OpenUniversity does a small thing that makes a huge difference to me as a disabled student. They include an accessibility guide that is specific to each module. 1/

@TalkingTier1 @tra_hall @tetheredtoed1 TTS allows learners to control the pace and number of repetitions of a text. They can control the frequency and pitch. It helps learners with Auditory Processing Differences, executive functioning challenges, memory issues, and hearing impairments.

This is a fundamental premise of UDL: Make the "reasonable adjustments" part of good practice!
@Swifthom I think that'd be standard good practice, Thomas. But I think in general vivas operate in a very normative way. We've been sending qus in advance because a 'reasonable adjustment' case has been made. And now I just feel like - why wouldn't we make this an option for everyone?

Please be aware that justified margins may be challenging for screen readers and individuals who have visual perception and processing differences.
My husband just said (to no one), “OH MY GOD if another person in my office uses justified margins I’m going to f*%>*ing fire everyone.” My first thought is this is why we won’t merge firms and my second thought which I said (to no one), “Maybe your margins need justifying.”
