I‘m excited to announce that we raised €9m in a pre-seed round for @prior_labs, the world’s first company focussed on building tabular foundation models! The round was led by @balderton, with participation from @xtxmarkets, Hector Foundation, Atlantic Labs, and Galion.exe. We’re also grateful for the support of our amazing angels, including @Thom_Wolf (Founder and CSO of @huggingface), @petersarlin (Founder and CEO of @AMDSiloAI), @robrombach (Founder and CEO of @bfl_ml), @guypod (Founder and CEO of @tessl_io), @egrefen (Director of Research, @GoogleDeepMind), @LynchBigData (Founding Investor of @DataRobot, CEO of @AtScale), and @ash_kulkarni (CEO of @Elastic). Tabular data (think Excel files and relational databases) forms the foundation of decision-making in healthcare, finance, business and science, but the methods used for analyzing it have been largely unchanged for the last 20 years. Tabular foundation models, like our TabPFN published in Nature a few weeks ago, are now set to revolutionize this field the same way that AI has revolutionized text and images in recent years. With this funding, we’re accelerating our work to push the limits of tabular AI and make data science radically more efficient. There’s still a lot to build, and we’re just getting started. I’m also super happy to contribute to the European startup scene. We have top-notch research in the @ELLISforEurope network and are finally channeling this talent into building world-leading startups.
