When we acquired the Nocton estate in 2012, the cricket ground and facilities were in a poor state of repair. We have worked on the ground and have now completely re-built the clubhouse, laid a new square, improved the outfield and added an all-weather net for training sessions.

Spring barley harvest is now underway! Over 1,250 hectares of spring barley is being harvested across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire over the next 2-3 weeks, which goes to the maltsters to turn into beer. That is the equivalent of 90 million pints of beer! 🍺

Late spring drilling is an ideal habitat for lapwings to nest, but our operators have to have eagle eyes to avoid their nests. We can use GPS to pinpoint nests and to highlight areas to avoid from inside the cab.

In our glasshouse we are seeing the first flowers starting to open. The roots of the plants are now well developed. We use sticky traps to control the pest which reduces the need for pesticides. The flowering lamps ensure crop growth and fruit quality later in harvesting.

The team are currently harvesting Vining Peas across Lincolnshire. 2000 hectares of speedy peas and standard peas are being harvested, freezing 6-8 tones every 45 minutes, 24 hours a day. The team aiming to freeze 9,000 tones of peas altogether.

One of the most successful pole boxes at Leadenhall Farm which consistently produces good numbers of barn owl chicks year after year. This year it has three barn owl chicks in the lower section and two kestrel chicks in the upper section!

The team are currently forage harvesting across Lincolnshire. 1050 hectares of rye and winter barley are being harvested, which is all used to feed our anaerobic digesters. 38 hectares of Lucerne is also being harvested, which is foraged for our cattle feed.

We are now at the peak of the autumn strawberry harvest, with the glasshouse team in the busiest period, picking an average of 8 tonnes (Approximately 400,000 berries!) per day. The hard work and dedication from the glasshouse team is what makes this all possible. 🍓❤️

Daily hygiene cleaning and maintenance is carried out by the team during pea harvest. Peas are harvested fresh, so the machines need to be kept as clean as possible. This also allows time to fix any maintenance on the pea viners so they are able to work 24 hours a day.

We have now completed this year's wheat harvest. A special thank you to the teams who have done well during the challenging temperatures. We didn’t have much rain during August, the dull days and lower temperatures meant that we had to dry more grain than we would have liked to.

For best fruit quality we need to keep our plants pest and disease free. The system allows us to apply a precise amount of treatment per area with excellent crop coverage whilst maintaining very low risk environment for the spraying operators. Safer, Better, Efficient, Smarter!

Potato harvest is well underway! 🥔 The team in Lincolnshire are busy harvesting potatoes, collecting over 15,000 tonnes in total. So far, the potato crops have performed well, with good yield and quality. Harvest is expected to be fully complete with a bang on bonfire night! 🎆

We are now over 50 days into this year’s vining pea campaign! The team in Lincolnshire have operated 24hrs/day, 7 days a week during this intense harvest. We expect to complete all fields this week, followed by a thorough wash down of all equipment, before the winter overhaul.
