need to investigate the officiating in this game. A crosscheck from behind that could end a career with no call. Marchand got 2 mins for nothing. 4 min high sticking with no apparent injury. Bruins losing this on their own, but officiating is corrupt.

Personally, I don't see why this is 5+game; it's on track to be a normal hit, when Lindgren rotates clockwise, leaving Pastrnak too late to abort the hit. If Lindgrenrotates counterclockwise 45 degrees here, it's shoulder to shoulder and nobody gets hurt.

The wealthiest team in the NHL- and one of the original six teams- refused to pay for a winning team for 38 years, and then couldn't compete to win through 17 more salary cap years. Every advantage imaginable and the Leafs haven't even made it to the finals in 55 years straight.

I rate Wayne Barnes 10/10 in this final match and 10/10 all tournament long.
Fair. Makes the tough calls. Has the right amount of leniency for marginal concerns so that the game flows and we watch the players, not the ref. IMHO.

Again, Torts is right, players don't know how to absorb a hit anymore; they make decisions like it's a non-contact sport. Hope Lindgren is alright; think this is 2 mins.

Great player, but this is one of the most dangerous hockey things I've seen. And it's 100% intentional, avoidable, unnecessary, pointless. Even a hit from behind could be defended in some way, but not this.

And after they forbid it, there were other variants people did until they got banned.
You can pretty much just sit in the saddle on downhills now.

Reminds me of a comment from Ullmark last season about how he finds motivation with all the wins: "Brad Marchand is always on my ass" (slight paraphrase).

57 years ago, soon to be 58. And it's "defenseman" with a -21 rating after 11 seasons with the Leafs that helps explain the most recent decade of failures. Reilly was upset about losing all the time.
