Boston signed cheap vets, competed for first in the NHL, placed second in the division, won a playoff round and played six more games. Swayman, Lohrei emerge. Poitras returns, Beecher settles in. Great transition year— invaluable playoff experience and cap flexibility. #NHLBruins

@lukastillabum Geekie is pacing for another career-high season in goals; Zacha is pacing for another year at/near a 50-point campaign. What are we doing here?

@golfnut9999 I’d rather the picks be for next year, but I assume they’ll be valued much higher than this year.

@toolate861 He is not an “offensive dman”, hes a two-way defenseman with elite underlyings at 5-on-5 against high-level competition who averages 36 even-strength points each season.

@dylanp094 Yeah I think there’s value for a contender looking to add bottom-six depth. Especially if you have some faster, quicker players that can benefit from having him in net-front positions.

@Xialater Disagree. Don’t think NHL GM’s are going to change their minds based on a 20-game sample while playing for an inconsistent, struggling team. His value is probably the same as it was IMO.

@AllanGregory7 @conroyherald Strongly disagree. Maybe in comparison to this season’s version of Carlo, but his previous body of work? Not really close IMO. Peeke is largely “fine” in his role as 3RD, but he can’t really handle the puck consistently or carry his pair. Can’t expect him to fill a top-four void.

@toolate861 He wasn’t paid for his ability to quarterback PP1. He was paid for his even-strength, three-zone impact which he provides.

Good defensive stick, positioning from Frederic Brunet, No. 42 in black, leads to a defensive-zone takeaway and breakout. Appreciate the way he keeps the play in front of him. #NHLBruins
