The Star Wars and James Bond sequels are what I think of as natural sequels. You expect the characters to have more adventures. Ditto superhero movies. The unnatural sequels are most of them. Movies like City Slickers, Home Alone and Sister Act are about once-in-a-lifetime events, yet somehow they happen again. Most horror sequels are unnatural. There's no reason the 1931 Frankenstein story should continue—but it does, and it's still great, at least two more times.
