With the 3DS and Wii U eShops closing it is now impossible to buy nearly 2/3 of the Xeno series legitimately. Emulation has preserved many games for people that still want to experience them. Unfortunately there is one game that was lost probably forever.

I don't think there will ever be a game with a setting as unique, beautiful, thematically written, or simply more capable of grabbing my attention more than Xenoblade 2's. I love the Cloud Sea, Titans, World Tree, & everything else! I wish we could've explored even more of it.

Even if you only care about Xenoblade which she has almost no involvement in, writing her off as "just Takahashi's wife" or "an unimportant dev" is just plain wrong. So many characters like Zeke & Poppi are based on characters she wrote. Her legacy lives on in modern entries.

Something that made me fall in love with Xenoblade 2 is its setting. Name one game where you get to explore the backs of giant animals swimming in an ocean of clouds with cool sci-fi elements under those clouds. It's such an incredibly unique world. I love Alrest so much.

Nearly a dozen Shin Megami Tensei games will be hard to obtain after the shut down. My personal recommendation is 4 but there really is a lot of them on there. Most are turn based with split path narratives revolving around demons and angels. Some of these contain DLC.

DQ11 was meant to be a game to reflect & celebrate everything the series had accomplished. Little did we know 11 would be the stopping point in more way than one. So many people who helped make the series what is is have passed on. I pray Horii lives long.
The japanese commercial for Dragon Quest XI (subbed) is about a group of people who grew up with a franchise that they obsessed over and how nothing changes, as adults. Even if you're NOT a DQ fan, you'll understand. Horii is the last of the trio left. 😞.#ThankYouToriyama

Xenoblade X is one of if not the biggest Wii U exclusive that has yet to be rereleased. Due to poor sales of the console and kinda game too, this might be hard to track down physically. It is a large open world MMO combat style game with a heavy focus on exploration.

Shout out to Xeno for embracing the past while always moving forward. You can feel the love for past titles in nearly every entry despite each one often introducing a brand new world, cast, and lore. It's a series where games are excellent standalone but peak with full context.

Seeing Gormotti turn its head to make sure Torigoth is ok is still one of my favorite details in Xenoblade 2, especially for an early game area. It really makes the idea that this game is about living on giant animals seem real. They are are more than just static objects.

The game that changed the game is well put cause Dragon Quest 3 is the reason RPGs became popular in Japan: helped popularized class changing, day & night cycles, and heavily inspired not only the genre but games as a whole! One of the most important RPGs ever made. 🫡.

I can't believe this is somehow a hot take but getting a game over when the protag dies even tho allies know revive spells is horrible game design. Heck even if they didn't know revive spells that's still kinda dumb. It's especially bad if you lose story progress when dying.
