@ingridscheffer @Prof_IanD Similar to Dr. Scheffer, I say, “You don’t want to know what I would do for my family, my values are not necessarily the same as yours. I can tell you, based on our conversation(s), what I think is best for your XX.” Some families may want to know an expert agreed or gave a plan.

There is limited data for oral clonazepam for status and clonazepam is not absorbed buccally so may still have limited bioavailability if not able to swallow, vomiting, or hypersalivating. We need better solutions to insurance barriers.
@KerosSotirios Love this “height of man rule” cartoon from residency days. So random, but so useful 😃

Annoying to have to write a letter of medical necessity referring to the FDA designation of “Clinical Superiority” for Valtoco. … or prescribe, fill rectal medication and send new Rx for nasal due to failure of therapy due to difficult route. :(
Ugh insurance denying intranasal seizure rescue medication, because rectal diazepam has not been tried yet. For a 16 year old female. Make it make sense.

Excited to share the work of @MD_Mazzio Looking at use of EEG for post arrest outcomes in a multi-center cohort. Good EEGs with poor outcomes associated non-neurological severity. @SuttonB_ICUMD @MattKirschen @AlexisTopjian

@KevinJDownes Maybe time to say that if the journal can’t give an answer then tell give them a deadline. Provide a response or you will have to retract as long as you can send it to another journal. What do actual editors or folks at journals think @SamirShahMD @LucaBartoliniMD

@KevinJDownes Many journals also have a median time for first decision that I often use to base my decisions. I usually email to ask for an update if a couple of weeks beyond median time or more than 6 weeks.

I haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast but Dr. Sherlock is an amazing physician and her passion and compassion make this world a better place. I am so glad to have been able to work with her. @AlisonBrentMD @ChildrensColo @PNCRGtweets
As a doctor, you don't expect to become the patient. In this #ChartingPediatrics episode, we go beyond the white coat and explore how one doctor turned tragedy into triumph. Listen now:

Great work by @DanielleKellier @ChildrensPhila presented at #AANAM and highlighted at the year in review related to the disparity in treatment, diagnosis and follow up for minoritized patients. Hope to see some of the work published soon! @hospitals4kids
