Feeling the need to clarify a few things:
1. People with serious mental illness are more likely to be victims than to be perpetrators.
2. SSRIs don't cause people to murder other people.
3. Stop stigmatizing mental health to justify ignoring the evidence: Guns ARE the problem.

Today I got asked to be a "Diversity Fellow" for a journal which would provide the "opportunity" to serve as an editor (but not actually in name) working ~10 hours per month for $500 a year. UM NO. I can't even begin to discuss the problems with this.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a first-line treatment for OCD, however many are unable to receive this treatment. App-based interventions are a promising way to address this gap.

I’ve had ~ 10 postbacs/students get into fully funded PhD programs and none of them had close to these stats. I also review hundreds of applications for our PhD prgm each year and can definitely say those folks would be outliers.

Let's not forget about the kids. Remission from OCD is significantly more likely among youth than adults. Treatment early in the course of illness and before substantial impact on functioning predicts a better course. We must improve our early detection of OCD!
