My 2 yr old and I are COVID positive. He is struggling, more than I am, especially at night. I have not slept for the last 4 nights making sure he is still breathing. If your child didn't struggle, I am glad. But don't minimize our experience. Just makes you a horrible human.

I’ve been attending the PEP for ~5 yrs. I advocated for my school, fought school closures and testified on policies that will slowly alleviate some of the inequities in the system. Today, for the FIRST time we got a major win for our children! 8 amazing humans made it happen!

Would be great to also mandate masks the first couple of weeks of of school teachers and students are coming back from holiday break/travels. Other schools districts are.

As a parent I have been supporting the @MOREcaucusUFT for five years. If I were a teacher, this would be the caucus I would join to stay informed, have democratic voice, fight for social justice and know that people will always have my back!.

Almost four years ago we created @safeschoolsny because we felt like the city was not doing enough to protect our kids. We fought hard for mitigation measures. If we don’t quarantine, we are exposing children and teachers to the virus. That is a fact. This is negligent.

Tomorrow we stand in solidarity with all of the teachers and students that are going back into buildings. Even though I don’t think it is right, for their lives, I hope I am wrong and these next two weeks are amazing. But you are in my thoughts and I am still fighting for equity!

This made me cry. I have known @JamaalBowmanNY for yrs. He is brave, strong & steadfast. I know WHY he has to do this. But to see a Black man get arrested fighting for his communities' rights. The fact we STILL have to do this, hurts me! TY 4 your leadership!.

Instead of thinking about how to protect our communities from this fifth surge the #KeepSchoolsOpen folx are back in full force not centering science, public health or how systemic racism has impacted our communities as a whole (incl schools). White supremacy literally kills.

The @AFTunion has YET to present a "Town Hall" with diverse experts/parents to talk abt COVID. This panel would have modeled what others need to do to present effective mitigation measures in school communities. But they weren't able to see that b/c they were busy pandering /6.

.@DanWeisbergNYC @KenitaLloyd @DOEChancellor this is a huge concern for the future of our public schools. I hope that we recognize that Moms4Liberty has been deemed a hate group and we have parent leaders that align w them. Equity parent leaders need protection.

In order for us to be able eliminate mask mandates we have to extend the mandate for now in order to get more people vaccinated and protect our most vulnerable. REMINDER: we still have low vax rates in children 5-11, and 0-5 are not eligible for the vaccine. #UrgencyOfEquity.

@MOREcaucusUFT @BilldeBlasio @UFT We must have 100% weekly testing and include 3K and prek. #Omicron is a whole other ballgame and using data from Oct-Dec to make policy is irresponsible as we have seen such a significant spike in cases. Our children and their teachers are not safe!.
