I am so disappointed to see so much hate against assylum seekers. This is a humanitarian crisis and most did not ask to be sent by bus without consent or agreement to NYC. The Christian thing to do is to come together to help "people", many of them children. We all have a story!.

It is a beautiful thing when a community comes together against gun violence. Today's Peace March was a huge success. I want to send a huge thank you to all of you who showed up and said "Presente".

Congestion pricing: $15 is too much when cost of living is still at an all time high and wages at an all time low. How will @mta ensure my district does not become a parking lot. Lifting cap on for-hire vehicles contradicts all plans to reduce vehicular traffic down down.

I would sometimes offer him a ride home from city hall. He would hum and tap the window the entire ride home. We will miss him. He did great things for Harlem and average day new Yorkers. He was honest and never apologetic for fighting for what was right. Rest in power my friend.

This is good. Our Human Services Workers deserve this and so much more for all they do to keep this city going.

I joined @NYCMayor to announce a $741 million investment in cost-of-living adjustments for our 80,000 human services providers. This COLA is long overdue and represents our obligation to ensure the workforce that provides vital services to NYers receives the wages they deserve.

Today, the Mayoral Advisory Commission on Monuments did the right thing in recommending the removal of the J. Marion Sims Statue from East Harlem. Congratulations @MMViverito @cb11 @EH_Preservation and all of the wonderful women who worked tirelessly to make this a reality.

Commissioner O'Neill must follow through on today's recommendation by Deputy Commissioner Maldonado and fire Officer Pantaleo immediately. The Garner family has been denied justice repeatedly but today's decision affords the NYPD a chance to do the right thing.

In New York, for every $1 that a white male earns, Black women earn 65¢! We must close the #wagegap for ALL NEW YORKERS! #BlackWomensEqualPay #EqualPayNY

Comments like these lend the impression that most people in shelter do not work. That is not true. The truth is that many of those families/singles are forced to work low wage jobs which render them unable to keep up with increasing rents. 🤷‍♀️.

Mayor Adams sounding very much like he would supports a work requirement for shelter eligibility in NYC, saying that you can right now stay in city's care "even if you are not working" before adding: "There are many New Yorkers that join me to say this is not fair to taxpayers.".

We can obtain these resources while also improving conditions for incarcerated people. This plan is NOT an expansion plan, it is a decarceration plan unlike any other in our country.

@DianaAyalaNYC We know what the community is asking for because WE ARE the community. We are organizers and residents from the Bronx. YES, we want those resources. We need those resources. We do NOT need a jail to get them. #CellOut.
