Gen V is a new birth cohort in Victoria, Australia. Itā€™s aiming for complete coverage of Victoria, with c.150k babies eligible. Multiple data sources: a survey app, bio samples, data linkage. Here is what they have achieved to date! #ESRA23

Marialivia Bernardi & @sarah_knibbs are talking about a new 5-wave longitudinal study of babies in England born in 2021: Children of the 2020s. Wave 1 required strong comms to maximise response, and an app was utilised to collect data and engage families. 51% RR achieved #ESRA23

The UKā€™s #EarlyLifeCohort (co-directed by @_DrLisaC) will field test a large number of innovative data collections: developmental neuroscience measures, enhanced home environment assessments, and enhanced bio-measure collection. Hugely exciting in a cohort context! #ESRA23

The #EarlyLifeCohort feasibility study in the UK is taking an innovative approach to recruiting. @_DrLisaC explains that own-household parents (those living apart from their baby some/all of the time at recruitment at 9 months) will be recruited independently #ESRA23

GENERATION is an Australian cohort tracking young people transitioning from school. Ben Edwards talks about how to recruit and survey via schools. Wave 1 recruited c.25,000 students. Personalised reports post-survey to schools and young people were particularly valued #ESRA23

Growing Up In Digital Europe (GUIDE - @EuroCohort) has conducted a pre-pilot to inform questionnaire development. Cognitive interviewing with both children and parents has yielded a huge amount of learning (too much for me to summarise - see pics!) #ESRA23
