The problem I have with studies reporting health effects of UPF can be seen in this paper by Rauber et al. is lack of objectivity in defining which foods are actually UPF! Here are 2 food labels of ingredients, one in this study is UPF & other is not!🤷

@ktibus @ggkuhnle I believe that applies to most foods and drinks, e.g. if bread is cheap its apparently bad but if artisan its great etc even though the later is likely to contain far more salt

@ggkuhnle Nah, just more processing likely to be producing numerous unknown compounds containing stuff which may be associated with something in a tangental piece of epidemiology or an obscure animal feeding study
