Here's something I don't get: journals requiring that submitting authors' citations of their own previous research be anonymised (e.g. "Author, Year") for the sake of double-blind peer review. Surely this makes it potentially easier for a reviewer to find out who you are? 1/5

Productive day with my co-author. Love & Preston (2021) is an experimental study investigating the optimal pitch to be used when asking cats to stop scratching the furniture. Early results suggest that varying pitch has no effect, and they will bloody well do as they please.

Personal news: last week I was diagnosed with ADHD. I was initially sceptical but turns out I had a v. narrow view of what ADHD is and how it can affect people, esp. adults, but lots now starting to make sense, which is affirming. Hoping this can help improve things over time 🙂
