My new book THE URGE is out today. It’s a history of addiction, interwoven with my own experiences as an addiction psychiatrist at Columbia and as someone in recovery. Aside from my own recovery, it's the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I hope it’s helpful.

@margosteines Generally I like one overall idea or theme--i.e., a series of essayistic approaches to something, but not essays per se. VIROLOGY comes to mind (which I love)... that was for some reason described as essays, I think, but Osmundson didn't actually need to call them that.
