At the pine box derby at church where our kids supposedly made the cars but we all know the dads did. The competition is palpable. These are men I love and would die for but tonight I will step over them in the ditch on the way to the trophy 😂 🏆

Just noticed the boat in To Catch a Thief is named Maquis Mouse My kids have a pine box derby race tonight so, foreseeing a long day, I thought we could enjoy a slow breakfast with Cary grant in the French Riviera

@Andrewnsnyder Needs some Chesterton on paradox and fiercely holding to both ends. Just like the red and white of St. George’s flag, Christians have a “healthy hatred of pink”

Reading Heroes of the Fourth Turning was my last experience with an American play. I think about it often. But seeing it with friends and dining out after sounds great!

Imagine if there were good original American plays again and theaters where all kinds of people watched them together before going to restaurants and arguing about what they meant

@alancornett Reminds me of Annie dillard’s story in the writing life. She told of a danish aristocrat who hunted in the woods all morning, ate lunch with friends by the river, ended up back at home for a fancy dinner. My wife and I always discuss what our danish aristocrat day would be

Fun to listen to a sermon on diligence and then spend the rest of the day on the couch, stuffing my face and explaining how the great athlete should have done it

My dad told my introvert 4yo that she sure looked pretty in her red dress, drawing the attention of the whole room. Her response was to slowly and awkwardly stuff an entire Hawaiian roll into her mouth

Reading my 20 month old a Bible picture book of Jesus preaching to the crowds. I asked him what Jesus was saying to them and he said, “People, people, people…”
