Wow. I asked him what it was like back in the 1970s in India, and he replied to my question. Great start to the year with inspiring message. I completely agree dedicated and talented folks will always find a way to create an impact irrespective of obstacles 💯
Incidentally, soon after a few students, along with Prof Guha at IIT Delhi and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, started a similar, first in India, biomedical engineering effort.... you can sometimes make what you want to happen happen with enough persistence, despite bureaucracy and obstacles... even in India in the 1970's. Great message to entrepreneurs for the New Year

@memenist_ @LifeOfPaaji In the 21st century if you have racist and stereotypical views, just join comedy and say them people won’t mind, thinking it’s just comedy😒

@cric_blog As an Indian fan, I must say 2023 World Cup final was best final strategy I have ever seen from any Aussie side in the last 20 years. They came up with a plan for every player, every phase of the game. From ball 1, they were passionate about winning and executed their plans

@learning_pt NVIDIA even as recently as 2018-19 used to hire top 3 undergrad students from Electronics. I had a friend from electronics IIT BHU who got intern & later PPO straightaway because he was the batch topper. So if you become the topper in your class you get a ticket to work at NVIDIA

@nehaGurung1692 @venom1s I love Northeast people❤️If I had money, I would have something for Northeast to develop it more industrial and making it more advanced. High time for Indian government and industrial sector to make Northeast as one of the economic zone of India

Absolutely true. This was the biggest eye-opener for me in the last 4-5 years in the US. Every student who has qualified JEE Advanced with a strong grasp has already studied the foundation of very advanced math, physics, and chemistry according to world standards even *before* entering IIT. The level is so high that if students continued from there, they could become great math or physics researchers. And when you are strong in math and physics, you can contribute to other engineering fields including CS, no matter your domain. But what our IIT education system is doing is murdering that strong foundation, making students dull and turning them into factory workers by telling them to just focus on leetcode and software engineering. We are losing so much *raw* talent every year. In the US and China, based on my experience (and from my American undergrad friends) they start small, gradually increase complexity, and keep students in momentum without unnecessary distractions. They nurture students into talent over time, whereas in India the system crushes raw talent. India is destroying its own raw talent. Nehru didn’t build IITs for this. Our pre-IIT roadmap is incredible, probably the 2nd best in the world after China, but what happens in college is worse than even African standards
I am in my 3rd year at IIT BHU and I remember that we had a course called PHY 101 in our 1st year where we learnt about Hamilton Equation. Today I was watching a video by Veritasium and this was for the first time where I understood the true beauty and power of the Hamilton Equation. Makes me wonder how many physicists and mathematicians have been murdered by our education system; which focuses on competition and grades instead of focusing on sparking curiosity. This education system is honestly committing a crime by killing so many physicists and mathematicians. We cannot ignore the magnitude of this crime: - It’s hampering our country’s growth - Taking the youth away from research - Pressurising an entire generation - Making education a burden Education is the most foundational aspect of a society’s development and our education system is committing a crime against education.

I know about SIL. A long time ago they interviewed me. I remember asking them about their funding and how long they would last. If I remember correctly, they told me back then that it would be until 2030 or 2032. Sad to see such an impactful lab being shut down
The University of Missouri is part of the Soybean Innovation Lab. Missouri, as a state, is #7 in the nation for soybean production. It is our #1 crop. The annual on farm value of Missouri’s soybean crop is more than $2.5 billion. #moleg @GovMikeKehoe /1
