Having Christian morals back in everyday situations can encourage more people to do what is right. But instead people are influenced by godlessness which has led to many of the problems we deal with today. Having this brought back shouldn't be an excuse for Christians to be lazy. It should be an encouragement to keep themselves in the right path & do what is right. It is easier to do so when the culture around you encourages morality rather than immorality.

Every state at the time the Bill of Rights were passed were Christian. Every state Constitution had a requirement for each states politician to be a Protestant Christian (except for Maryland which was originally Catholic & then Protestant in later years). When the Constitution says that there'd be no religious test, it was meaning that the Federal Government would not dictate which denomination a politician should be part of (since every state had their own requirement...they already covered that). Joseph Story speaks about this fact in his Commentaries on the Constitution & also speaks about the 1st amendment with this in mind. We were founded as a nation built on Christian morals. Unfortunately, our nation has lost touch of that, but should move back towards God if we want to be great again. So, to answer your question in a shorter fashion, yes I stand by the 1st amendment, but I stand by what it meant to those who wrote it & those who passed it. I stand by it's true meaning.

@MelonieMac Amen! Reminds me of an old hymn... This World Is Not My Home "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue; The angels beckon me from heaven's open door, And I can't feel at home in this world anymore."

Because that waste was caused by their corruption! What is done in the dark will come to light eventually. We are witnessing this with @DOGE.
