It was great to have helped out on this dig, even more exciting for the building to be carbon dated to the Early Medieval period. Not only that, but it's "the largest Viking Age building to be discovered and excavated in Britain" no less @HorneSupremacy

@rastang_233 Yes, possibly. Just had a closer look and the top line seems to say "Behold now is the accepted time, behold now is the salvation". Which I believe is a verse from 3 Corinthians 6:2 and is often used by the Salvation Army. Still unsure what the 12:55 time means though π€·ββοΈ

@SteveHooke Probably found it at about that time! π Strange one isn't it, I wonder if there's some religious significance to that time.

RT @NorthAges: A silver Thorβs hammer pendant was discovered in the Longtown area of Cumbria #OTD in 2008. It dates from AD 875-1000. πΈPortβ¦

@SDetectorist @SCCArchaeology @findsorguk Ah OK, good that you managed to get it recorded still. The hoard I found is waiting to be seen by the Treasure Valuation Committee, @TullieCarlisle have expressed an interest in it so hopefully it won't be too long.

@ArchaeoAnni You're absolutely right, there is a rivet hole in terminal. Thanks very much for the ID π

@Dodgypunter51 I'll Make Britain Great Again! π Unfortunately not a sword though, probably a fence post. Edges are squared off so they'd be no slicing through armour with that!
